Yup. Part way through my first divorce my lawyer became a family court Judge. So I had to find a new one. In the meantime my first ex went to see all the other top divorce lawyers in Montreal for one consultation each, to prevent me from retaining them. I still managed to find a pretty good one though.
My second divorce was amicable with no lawyers involved. Three months from filing the initial papers at court to getting the final decree.
There won’t be a third marriage. As I always say, a third marriage is a triumph of hope over experience!

When confronted her, she: (1) emailed my whole company in my name with racist foul language trying to get me fired; (2) cut up all my clothes; (4) spray painted my house inside and out with insults; (5) stole everything not bolted down and (6) broke multiple windows/walls. I’m sure I’m missing some stuff.
I called the police and they actually arrested and charged her. I also sued her in civil court and got a judgment for over $60K plus court costs and interest. I collected 5+ years later when she and a new guy bought a house and I put a lien on it. Almost $100K recovered and great satisfaction.

plus having a good friend who is a lawyer helped. No legal fees until I recovered and even then he took an absolute minimum.
my ex J (he had been abusive physically and psychologically) came to the premier of a movie that he acted in and I wrote the musical score for. J followed one of my male friends into the bathroom and threatened him. My then boyfriend R (also an ex now) decided to engage with J despite me asking him not to--he had got super drunk against my wishes. They almost got into a physical fight in front of my dad. J got banned for life from the venue.
