You can but it will be pointless because she isn't a newbie anymore. :p

I think a $ 15 minimum is more in the casinos favour and keeps a lot of people away at least the casual players .
It usually keeps me away. Unless I'm jonesing to play I won't go over a $10 minimum.

I suppose if you are winning it's better at $ 15 a pop but unless you are carrying a decent bankroll it would reduce the number of place bets you make .
Even on a $5 table I believe the maximum pass line bet you can make is $500, which is plenty even for a big shooter.

It is so important to bet the maximum amount odds you can on the given number/point. So it's a good idea to map out your strategy before you start playing. I personally like to play the pass line and 2-3 come bets depending on how I feel or how much I like the shooter.

If I put $5 on the pass and a 6 comes, that's $35 with max odds. Couple that with 3 come bets and I'm over $100 just on one turn. If I were playing on a $10 table I'm well over $200. Do the math on a $15 or $25...it's nuts.

If you play often enough and get to know the game well you will some ridiculous stuff being played. On Saturday night this moron was betting $100 on the pass and nothing else, no odds...nothing. If the shooter were to roll a seven on his come-out roll, which is good possibility, it wouldn't be such a bad bet; But if he makes a number it sucks because he only gets paid even money. He would be far better off putting $10 or $15 on the line and saving the rest for odds....like I said moron.

Good luck!

p.s. stay away from the craps table.

Thanks for tips , in any game you always see people doing weird things. I think I will play craps even though you say stay away but I will try not to get greedy , that's when you get burned. I think B Jack which was my game is worse for getting burned and fast.

OK thanks got it now . I am surpised Rama is $ 10 minimum and casino niagara is $ 5 or maybe I am surprised niagara is not $ 10
I was at Rama and asked one of the dealers what the min is and she said $5. Obviously that depends on the time of day as they raise their limits during busier hours. I didn't play craps, but I'm still re-learning the bets, and reading up some betting strategies.

One strategy (the Patrick system) is betting both the pass and don't pass line, then once the point is established put up free-odds on either one of your bets.

I don't know the intricacies of betting with regards to craps but in math class I remember as a bonus assignment calculating the odds of the player winning in the long run. It comes out to about 49% player / 51% house. In that regard it's one of the better games to play but as with all casino games the favour is always towards the house. So better save your money and remember that casino's exist because they are profitable, it's foolish to think you can come up with a system to beat them.

From an entertainment perspective I'd rather have a oiled up MPA sliding with me, moaning and groaning and giving me the deer eyes. :D

Yes if you look at things logicallly like I do it's best not to gamble but I still do. After everything is said about stategy etc it comes down to luck and leaving if you ar e ahead . Sometimes a t a blackjack table of 6 people 2 or 3 get good cards and I get shitty cards . If you make a quick buck leave. You would think that with only slightly better odds in blackjack for the house bets would even out but it's surprising how long a streak of bad cards can be . the guy or girl to your left gets 20 and you get 4 hands of 16

To echo what frankcastle said, these huge magnificent casinos weren't built because they have a flawed business model. There is no bet in the casino where the house doesn't have some kind of edge.

The casinos are in it for the long run and have enough cash reserves that they can weather any kind of lucky streak a player might have. Math and statistics are on their side. In the short run, a player can win, but odds are, if they play long enough, they will lose.

Knowing all this, it does seem kind of foolhardy to even ever set foot in one of these places. But if you look at it is entertainment, and only gamble what you can afford to lose, it can be a lot of fun sometimes.
