Toronto cover band Dwayne Gretzky and The Highwomen have both turned in solid covers of Fleedwood Mac's 'The Chain'.
Some people are putting the originals in for comparison.Wait, I thought this was a cover tunes thread.

No, he referenced Nothing Compares 2 U. The video posted was by Prince, who wrote the song, but didn't record the hit version.
Prince wrote and recorded it, but never released it.
Then he gave it to Sinead and from all reports loved her version so never went back to it.
Prince frequently wrote songs that were initially recorded by women he wanted to bang; Sheena Easton, Vanity, Susannah Hoffs...
I have heard this.
Mind you, I think he was on of those people who liked talented people as well.
Sort of a "your talent is part of why I want to bang you" thing.
So if you're a great songwriter, why not give songs to people as a courtship - whether or not it gets you in their pants.
