Could Marian Gaborik be a 50-goal scorer?

he's only 24 years old with loads of games experience under his belt now, but has Minnesota's lack of concern for an offensive game hindered what this guy can do?

Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough said that after making a couple of contract offers to star Marian Gaborik that weren't accepted, his plan is to not negotiate for a period. The 24-year-old Gaborik, who will be a restricted free agent this summer and a unrestricted free agent after next season if he doesn't sign a multiyear contract, could be the youngest free agent in NHL history. Rumors are that Gaborik was offered a multiyear contract calling for more than $5.5 million a season.

on NHL radio, Gaborik said he'll go overseas for the season and come back if picked up by another team...

Can't see hime doing it on the Wild, but on another team surrounded by some talent it could happen.

Doesnt even need the talent. Jacques Lemaire will NEVER have a 50 goal scorer on a team he coaches.

Gaborik just needs to be on a team that has a run and gun style. Buffalo, Carolina, even Columbus come to mind.

Imagine him on Atlanta? He'd actually give their forwards a defensive conscience. Who would Atlanta give up, and who would Lemaire want?

Gaborik is garbage. He's got better tools than Hossa or Kovalchuk and is 99% as athletic as Ovechikin wither better wheels. He just doesn't have it in him to be great, even in his youth.

He may not have many great teamates in Minnesota, but he's never done anything on the talent-rich Slovak nationl teams.

He's a pouty underachiever in the mould of Kovalenko, Kozlov & Nedved - although those guys at least had one big season. Anybody who can contemplate going overseas in the prime of his career is not going to accomplish big things.
