Interesting read, the money is definitely good. The Owner of Mix testified that his profit was 200,000.
For a small business with shitty reviews that is incredibly.

The big spas most be rolling in the money.

Unless ofcourse he is claiming a higher profit in order to sell the business for a higher price.

If we assume he is telling the truth, and we give a generous net profit of 30%.

At a rate of 40$, You need 3.8333 clients an hour. Be open for 12 hour a day. 365 days a year.

At first I thought you were wrong, however after reading how Minx, was charged for doing the same thing the other 24 spas in Toronto are doing. I believe you are completely right about this.

With almost 60 transgressions, no bookkeeping, and being open up to 20 hours a day (with MPAs willing to work that late), it would be hard to believe anything that he says at this point. Claiming a higher profit seems to definitely be his modus operandi because he'll be out of business for six months and needs someone to buy the place fast because the bills will keep piling up -- both for the business and his apartment (apparently noted in the transcript) above the MP.

His credibility is shot and he'll never be able to work as an MP owner for the City of Toronto. If the MLS has sharing abilities with other municipalities about what transpired, he'll have to do business outside of the province. :bump2:

What I am sure of is this: I hear McDonald's is always hiring, so there's always hope. :rofl:

Hi guys,

i am just wondering what's the cost of running an MP per month or per day.
How much money can be made from this industry?
I am looking to invest or partner with someone , just wanted some input on this matter.

Items to consider
-rental cost
-heating
-water
-power
-cost of receptionist

If anyone has a breakdown of how much it would cost to run and how much money can made per month , please let me know.

Unless he decides to try in Mississauga and Toronto decides to share his revocation status with the Mississauga By-Law Office, there's really no chance anywhere else to make that type of business profitable.

That is, unless, he opens up a SP agency. The Blue Lagoon owner did it (Blue Angels), along with Mickey V's strip club in Mississauga (albeit for a very short time for the club, but that ended abruptly because of a totally different matter).

You would think that he would have gotten on that bandwagon sooner rather than purchase Blue Pearl altogether from its previous spa's past and duplicate almost the same nonsense all over again with Minx Spa.

Live and learn; crash and burn, I guess.

All I can say is that it's gonna take a lot more than a fresh coat of paint and a few promotional room fees to the public to revive that building's reputation if a sale is actually successful with a new owner.

Do you have experience in it? Do you think it is a wise and prudent investment?

It is a complex business with a lot of moving parts and moving targets with many employees who are notoriously unreliable and fickle. And it is unforgiving of any inattention. It will have to be your life 24/7 for it to be successful.

If it was this simple, we'd all be doing it. For a top end spa, you are spending at least $100K in renovations and furnishings. Assuming you are not buying an existing top end spa. And assuming you find one for sale.

For a B level spa you probably wont see an average of 17 customers per day. And in the lower level spas, the girls get a cut of the door fee because they do not have all inclusive pricing.

In all cases you'll have to add insurance costs, taxes, etc... That will eat into your profit.
