Harasement

I was coming out of there once and was walking to my car when a cruiser pulled up and the cop called me over. He started harrasing me asking what I was doing there and did I know what went on in there and did my wife know I went and a lot more harrasing me After a lot of questions he let me go. Sure didn't need that shit.

Well as the saying goes...what goes around comes around.

Someone (PA???) lobbied city hall to have all MP closed down EXCEPT for PA. For some reason the PA industrial park location was spared while other industrial park located MP's were closed. Ya ya they were all given 5 years notice so ya ya there was plenty of time to find a new rental spot within the designated "approved" area, obtain the city permits, blah blah blah....which was all bullshit. Someone at city hall has been paid off by someone who stands to benefit by being the ONLY MP left in Pickering.

So now the cops are hanging around PA looking for a flasher?? Give me a fucking break! Why would a flasher be flashing guys who go to MP's or even the MP's ?

Now that PA is the only game in town it makes it easy for the cops to bust it....good on them IMO. I still say that it is highly suspicious that PA was allowed to survive.

yeah yeah yeah ..I heard that all B4

"We were fortunate to be in that permited area and go through lenghty re-zoning process"

Interesting that ONLY you had the good fortune to have YOUR area selected as the permited area and not, for example, the folks around the corner from you who were in the industrial park on Alliance. (900 metres as the crow flies...be careful not to hit the same hydro lines that go by PA) Such good luck! You outta buy a Lotto 649...it's almost as good as having a city official or politician in your pocket.

So enlighten me Ark....where exactly are the other Pickering MP's? The other 3 that I frequented are all gone and only your area is permitted by the bylaw to have MP's.

The zone was established in 1997 the other MP's were grandfathered after the new bodyrub rules were established. Why don't you learn what your talking about before you start spreading BS

Well I'll be damned! I knew the zone and have even read the bylaw online but I have never heard of Aristocrat. My apologies to PA for singling them out. I didn't realize that there were actually two MP owners who bribed city officials.

The 3 that closed were the Pickering Spa, Brock Spa & Bayly Health Spa...yes I have tried PA 3 times and had always returned to the latter two.

I agree. If you don't have any facts to back up your allegations, you should not be talking bull#$@t. Sounds like you've got some sort of 'agenda' to me, I_AmCdn. Why are you so angry at this place? I've had my share of good sessions AND bad sessions at this place but overall, I think it's a good spa; clean, well-run, well-managed. So unless you have some facts to present to the rest of us, I say, "zip it". From what I know, the Town / City of Pickering DID NOT WANT ANY SPAS NORTH OF THE 401, the reason being that a lot of shops, restaurants, etc, are there. (Kelsey's, Walmart, etc.) Pickering Spa was in the same plaza as "Lick's", a family restaurant. Never been to the other 2 so I cannot say.

PA and Aristocrat are both south of the 401, and are both in industrial areas; therefore, meeting the zoning requirements.

As well, from what I gather, the license for the 3 spas that were closed ARE transferable. This means that if they choose, they can relocate to a "zoning- approved" area and re-open again. So how is there a conspiracy in all this? Their licences were NOT taken away, they were NOT busted, they were just asked to move. They were told that 5 years ago so it wasn't like they didn't know about it. If everybody got busted and closed down except for one, then MAYBE I'd say there's some conspiracy going on. But NOBODY WAS BUSTED, they were just asked to relocate. NOBODY WAS SHUT DOWN. If all 3 of the other spas decide to open again, would you still say that there's a conspiracy because they legally CAN, and most likely WILL, re-open again.

As I said before I agreed on Licks being too close and the Bayly Spa being too close to the arena although Bayly was indeed south of the 401.

The other three have not relocated and the owner of the Brock Spa asked for an extension. They satisfied the "located south of the 401, in an industrial park" rule and were just about under the same hydro wires that pass by PA.

My only agenda is having choice and when a city limits choice by shutting down one or more businesses with actions that obviously benefit other businesses who are in competition with the closed businesses then my suspicious attenae go up. I have been in the land development business for 28 years and I know how city officials, both elected and appointed, work and who they work for I will guaranty that it is not always for Joe Public.

As a member of the Joe Public clan I get pissed when competition is eliminated from the marketplace because in Pickering we now have less choice at higher prices. I will remain scepticle as to why one industrial park south of the 401 benefitted at the expense of another industrial park south of the 401.

To the original thread I will also be scepticle about the contention that the cops are hanging around PA looking for a flasher...flashers do not flash guys who were just jerked off. PA, and the other MP, are now in an "easy to monitor" area. Maybe containment for LE purposes was actually the City's intention all along.

I_amCdn,

If you think Pickering is bad, take a look at Vaughan, Richmond Hill or Markham. Take a look in Oshawa or Whitby and tell me who is more fair than Pickering? Only Mississauga is on equal footing to the MP rules that are found in Pickering.

Higher prices? Really? FYI, the prices at Pickering Angels have been the same for a long time now. Ever since they renovated and reopened its been the same posted price list and they are about $40 to $50 cheaper than mp's in the west end for the exact same services.

Stop talking stupid.

It's really too bad that Durham is as bad as it is. I am not certain of the zoned areas in Pickering and Ajax, but understand in Oshawa it's Bloor between Park and Stephenson, which is small to say the least and pretty high traffic area. There's only has the one spot and unlikely to see much growth in the future... I haven't been there since Nicole left, so I don't know what the talents like and wish Nicole would turn up somewhere again...

IAMCND raises some valid concerns...

The zoning thing is a joke. I too am all for competition. What the City decided on was allowing MP's to locate only south of Bayly - not the 401. That's why Pickering Spa, Bayly Spa, and the one on Alliance are now gone.

Looks like PA has an impressive lineup. I'm sure she's made a killing the past few years alone. My beef is that PA blatantly advertises in the local paper and with a giant billboard at Bay Cycle and Sports. When I'm taking junior and the SO to Don Beer for a little hockey, how do I respond to their questions? Just too in your face for my liking. Frankly, I expected this soccer mom community to have raised hell about this -- but it hasn't happened yet, which leads me to at least listen to what IAmCnd is saying.

I'm not taking any chances at PA. Maybe I'm way off base with my worry. Who knows? Hopefully hobbying will continue in Pickering.

As for the stalker thing, yeah right. That's what the coppers are there for.

PA has been around for years without any problems, no arrests, no warrents being served, no searchs being done and no proports of LE bothing clients as they walk in or out of PA. Don't want to go there, fine don't. But don't come ehre with a bunch of BS to put the place when you have not even set foot in the door. Hobbying will conintue in Pickering adn PA will be the spot that most of the action happens.

KWI
Amen to that.

Hey KWI consulting...

FYI... I've been a customer at PA since the early days when Roxanne (the original) and Sonia worked there. None of what I say is BS. It's just my opinion, as is yours. If you feel safe there, continue hobbying at PA. If you believe cops were there looking for a stalker, well, that's your belief. No I don't want to see PA go down. Just wish they were more discrete about their business, that's all. There once was a spa on Brock Rd. next to Country Style that was shut down by LE, so the possibility is there -- as it is anywhere in any municipality.
