I took a quick look at the threads. I also only saw little bits of the execution. From what I saw , I agree with some of the observations. I did find his expression odd and I was immediately aware of the terrorists postures. I thought their stances was just like americans or westerners. It almost looked as if he was willing.
I have no idea what conspiracy you are looking for.
The bottom line is he got decapitated because
a) He's an American-Great Satan in the eyes of many Muslims
b) He's Jewish-The Greatest Satan in the eyes of many Muslims.
When you combine this two-American Jews. Nothings make those people turn on faster than murdering "yahood" on their terms, of their choosing.
What they did to him VOD just make the SS or Gestapo like bunches of boys scouts. At least the Nazis did that behind the "secrecy" in a spider network, until the allies defeated the Germans.
BTW, VOD stands video on demand.

This thread is in the poorest of taste. I find it pointless and thoughtless to use the death of Nicholas Berg for entertainment value. If it were your son how would you feel?
Freedom of speech is a wonderfuil and precious thing. With the blossoming of the internet, likeminded people find each other, no matter how marginal they are, and any idea will find support amongst the hundreds of millions connected people.
Just remember the german cannibal who found a willing meal on the internet. Conspiracy theories are quite harmless compared to that and other criminal activities as for example child sex abuse.

Kathy - You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I've found many of the comments in serious threads about this subject (perhaps most notably MuffinMuncher's description of the Abu Gharib abuses as "fraternity style pranks") to be far more disgusting than anything in this thread.Kathy P said:

Bad joke it is. Someone posted that there have been much more repulsive threads about similar topics, but I can't help believing that it does not get any worse than making fun of someone else's pain particularly when that pain relates to the brutal, senseless loss of someone's child. It boggles my mind. Freedom of speech notwithstanding, just because you have the right does not mean you need to exercise it or, more particularly, exercise it in poor taste.
As for Bush, I hope and pray his days are numbered, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he pulled some last minute trick to suspend the elections. His goose is finally cooked. He's losing his base constituency - military families not to mention that the entire world is turning on him. So much for democracy. You know what they say though, "democracy does not get installed by guys in tanks with machine guns.
