Conan last night

The audience has been way too excited, you can tell Conan is getting tired of it b/c he can't get into his monologues and jokes until most people settle down. It seems like Toronto is so starved for celebrity. Also why is every yahoo in the audience wearing a leaf's jersey (or at least it seems like it). It just adds to the perception in the US that canucks are bunch beer swelling yahoos that live and die hockey.

Also, Conan is playing into Canadian's insecurity complex....with the 2 towers fight and letting the CN tower win.....and some dude yells "I'm gonna kick your a s s space needle"....

But overall the show has been funny, but why did we have to pony up 1 million of tax payer's money for the production of show

I thought it was sweeps week and Conan came to T-dot b/c it's something different....to help increase ratings...

....my buddy went to the Conan private party on sunday or monday.....he said Conan seemed like a really down to earth guy when speaking with him

oh and wronghole, conan does look like a grounded guy...nice to see a celebrity enjoy his celebrity and not let it get to his head.

Laughed my ass off!

Ok the insult dog last night was the funniest thing I've ever seen. I'd heard about him before, especially his trips to the Westchester Kennel Club Dog Show, but his stunts at the Quebec Carnival were hysterical. Don Cherry is a politically correct voice of reason compared to that.

That show apparently will be repeated on Ch 62 tonight (Friday) at 10pm, or at least according to the online TV guide.

Just to confirm - will a replay be on tonight on Star TV at 10pm? I caught Tues/Wed, but missed last night. I have to see this now. Also, is Fri at 12:30am a new one from Toronto still? Is that all of them, or anymore?

A replay will be on Star TV at 10 PM tonight. Tonight at 12:35 AM will also be the last Conan show from Toronto. Tonight's show includes Jim Carrey, Ed McCormick from Will and Grace and the Bare Naked Ladies.

They should let the two do battle on Conan's show. Triumph is a rip off of Edward. It would be nice to see Edward expose the copycat on Conan's last show in Toronto.

I just saw a banner headline go by on CBC NewsWorld that the rerun of O'Brien's show tonight will have Triumph The Insult Dog's segment deleted. There was something about politicians finding the segment "insulting and vile". First Don Cherry and now Triumph The Insult Dog!

I saw Triumph's segment and it was funny. It was politically uncorrect but I didn't think it was that bad.

Then again, I'm not "Quebecois"; so I guess I wouldn't be insulted.
He did get one guy so mad that he tried to strangle Triumph. His girlfriend had to pull him away.

I think Canadian comedy has probably shown worse; like Kids in the Hall or This Hour has 22 minutes.

It's definitely worth getting a copy of. I've taped all the shows so far and fortunately I was watching last night during that segment because my tape ran out. By the time I got a new tape set up, he was onto changing the street signs back to English...funny stuff. It won't take you long to realize why the French would be offended.

I couldn't agree with you more. first Cherry now Conan! What Triumph said was nothing more than what the people in Quebec hurle at English Canada on their TV programs. But because we do not see them, (nor understand them for that matter), it goes unnoticed. Give me a break! Our politicians need to focus on crime, finances, health etc, not some dog puppet making satiricle jibes to get a rise out of people. Well I guess Triumph got what he was after and, being the politically correct country this is, the public seems to be falling for it.

I am also disappointed in City TV. Isn't this the TV station that airs Ed the Sock who also rubs some people the wrong way, and the station that has countless of times pushed social buttons in the past?! Too bad they whimped out to the pressure.

Heck the dog is called Triumph the 'Insult' dog. What else is he going to do? Whisper sweet nothings in your ear? Sheesh!!!
