Anyone watch the show?

Loved it, it was pretty good.
Even though i'm not a hockey fan by any means, the skit with the leafs was hilarious.
Conan is just a huge star and possibly the king of late night as someone put it.

Mike Myers whom I'm also not to big a fan of as well, was great and did a good job representing us. He just shows how down to earth we Canadians, can really be.

basically conan was trying out for the team, then 3/4's of the way through became the coach, telling the 3 of them (forgot other 2, but Domi was in it) how they weren't playing up to their potential.

asked one of them, what was going on,
leaf player replied: i'm tired
Conan: babies are tired, babies nap, go nap

asked 2nd one, something forgot.

looked at Domi, hesitated for a second, threw his gloves down and was screaming "come on, come on"...Domi threw him down, Conan started wailing like a baby, dont hit me, *curling up*

Conan had this HYOOOGE helmet on his head, lol
Almost something you'd find on a head of a Disney character at a theme park.
lol

I have it taped and looking forward to watching it later. I'm a little miffed with Don Cherry's comments on the Bullard show about hating Americans and falling all over Conan and giving him $1 million dollars to subsidize the show.

I'm sure they'd give Cherry or Bullard for that matter the million if they could get access to the US audience that Connan has. Those are the people that stopped coming up here last year. this should be a big boost for tourism.

And for those keeping track at home, we don't like the French, the Europeans and now the Americans...nice job Grapes.

That's odd. I'm sure if cherry was offered some cash to get on Conan he would. The exposure for us is great. It really will (and has already) done wonders for us.

Too bad Cherry doesn't it see it that way. f'him for not.

Conna said he tried to get Cherry but he said no (which Cherry implied on Bullard). IMO Conan has been very complimentary about the city and about Bullard. He said in an interview that Cherry is a big guest anywhere and that he's tried to get him in New York.

I know Don casually through some business ventures and I really think he's gone too far this time. On a positive note he did say that with a name like O'Brien, he can't be all bad.

hmmm oh well...too bad, because if Don really turned down the opportunity he's really kicking himself for it now, for sure.

I'm sure he tried to have that "i'm a true canadian and die hard one at that" mentality, to have maybe his fans support him and what not, but what a dumbass move.

i'm sure it would have been fun to see him on Conan.

Regardless Conan's show was great and looking forward to seeing the rest of the weeks show.

just a random thought...opening line of Conan last night, referred to, 50cent (the rapper) as being known as 75Cent in Canada

also made a reference to the CNTower being an 1800foot penis (in reference to gay marriages being allowed here)

Myers is great. I sam him years ago on Larry King. When they opened it up for questions, King took a call and said, "Calgary, Ontario - hello!" And Myers slapped the desk and said, "Dammit, Larry, it's Calgary, Alberta!" Almost made me stand up and cheer.

reason why i'm not a huge fan of his was the overkill with Austin Powers.

seemed to get too greedy with the 3rd, but i guess the market wanted it.

otherwise, very down to earth guy.
He even acknowledged last night, some guy who worked at an esso station that gave him a piece of jewellery or button - or whatever.

It was a good show. I didn't find the comedian Ron James? to be funny. I think the only reason the crowd was cheering for him was because he was Canadian.

Yeah, I like Conan and everything; but if he had just stood there and did nothing the crowd would have cheered.
Ron James was pretty weak. It was like they took a character out of the Red Green Show.

How does a no talent idiot like Mike Bullard stay on the air?

I try to watch the show once in a while and I can't believe that the man has fans. Usually the fans are from small towns, so I guess its people who don't have cable or satellite. A "Captive Audience"!

Conan was great, although I feel American audiences might be dumbfounded with some of the things that were going on. Too bad some other Canadian comics/comedians couldn't make it up, Martin Short comes to mind, he's from Hamilton. It would be amazing if they could have gotten Shania Twain on the show.
Did anybody else see Conan on Muchmusic? Can he ever burn up the rug with his moves!

Part of the annoying this about Bullard last night was that Global, his host network, used the Cherry clip as their top story on the 11:00 news saying that a big Conan vs. Bullard showdown was taking place and it had ruffled some feathers. I have to think with all that's going on in this city/country/world that they could come up with something more meaningful than Cherry being an ass.

Bullard must be failing badly in the ratings for them to resort to those kind of stunts. He's funny and a relatively nice guy, so I'm sure this wasn't his idea.

Yup, would have been nice if they pulled out all of the Canadiana stops..Martin Short, Shania Twain, Avril, Alanis, Celine, Aykroyd, Levy, O'Hara, Martin, Moranis, Gretzky, Weir, Kieffer Sutherland, Peter Jennings (ok, so he's on a competing network...)

Well what pisses me off (for some reason) I tried valiantly to get tickets and didnt succeed (tried emailing, off the radio, etc)...I firmly believe people will only be Conan fans for a week because he's in TO, yes thats a mass generalization but I've liked him ever since he came on the air and I guarantee that a high percentage of the people who watch this week or attended didnt watch regularly in the past, nor will they in the future, I just seem to get that idea...

essentially, I am just bitter I didnt get tickets :(

Hey I hear ya!

There seem to be a lot of posers waitin in line.
I've liked Conan for a long long time but I didn't bother even trying to see the show. Don't need the hassle, especially when I can see it in the comfort of my own home.

I have to admit that I am watching more Jimmy Kimmel and less Conan on certain weeks (depending who his guest co-host is).

Surprising about Grapes busting on Americans. The last big controversy involving Cherry and America was his unabashed support for America during the war when Ron was pestering him. Remember the stars and stripes tie Don wore that day?
