Please everyone i need your expertise here. I have tried all that i know and still it is present.
ok.. on my friends pc they cant close out of their browser they have to use control alt delete just to get it to close also when they visit hotmail... they get all the script in the body of where the message could go but now ya cant this is while replyin to amessage.. help ive tried spybot and pc doc and tried to do adaware as well
pls help its annoyin

If you have XP and using IE6 Try Repairing IE:

ok i have 98 and i tried installin ie6 as well as patches and critcal updates too

back up what you need and get XP

Your best bet is to back up what you need and just blow out 98 and get XP. I would shell out a few more dollars and get XP Pro.

98 occasionaly has some difficulties. sometimes the best call is to reinstall it. Sometimes it can be fixed by reinstalling missing files. Let me know if you need help.

Is the Internet Explorer closing problem only happen when connected to the internet?
You could be hacked or have a virus/trojan.
Ad-Aware and Spybot dont catch everything.

Do an Online Scan at TrendMicro, I think TrendMicro can also fix malware, I haven't used it in a while.

Also Do an Online Scan at Symantec, it wont fix any problems but it will tell you if have something on the comp, and knowing is the key.

I just cleaned a friends comp. The Malware created two services, so when I killed one, the other would restart it and visaversa. Had to use Safe Mode and a lot of digging.

sounds like you are missing files, got the original install disks and Emergency rescue disk?

Try the following..

1. Download Spybot, from the web.. (google search the site address) Run the program.. and then update it and run it again.

2. In windows 98 go to the C:\Windows directory and remove the file mshp.dll from the system. (delete it) if it is present.

3. while in the windows directory. go into the cookies directory and remove all cookies the index.dat file will not be able to removed it is a system file.

4. Go to the temp file in windows directory and del everything..

5. go to the temporary internet file in windows and delete it also..

reboot the system.. run spybot once more then reinstall the IE6 with service pack 2.

this should fix your problem...
