Computer Issue - Keeps prompting me for Password

I have this very annoying computer problem that is happening every 2 minutes.

It keeps prompting me to "Enter Network Password"

I box pops up with my sympatico server

Username

Password in ************

I hit ok, 2 minutes later, it pops up again.

I click on "Save this passwork in your password list" and 2 minutes later, it pops up again.

I hit cancel, same thing.

All this seems to have started when I downloaded skpe. Ever since, when I am in outlook, it prompts me over and over for a password. I had set outlook to delete all deleted emails upon closing, (prompting me first) and now Outlook no longer deletes automatically.

Even when outlook is closed, it still prompts me for a password.

Any advice?

The virus/malware on your comp is trying to use it as a spam sender I think.

I have norton anti virus on my machine. I've had it there longer than I've had the problem.

if you click cancel, or close the window that ask for your password, are you still connected to the net? and if you try to search another web address are you able to?

Yep, still connected, no problem going to another site.

It's like it knows the password, but keeps asking me for it again (over and over and over)

Try this (assuming you have Vista):

Go to control panel
>Network and Internet
>View Network status and tasks
>Manage network connections from left menu)
>right click the icon of the connection (Sympatico)
>choose properties
>Options
>Uncheck "Prompt for name, password, certificate"
