Even under the democratic tax plan, the percentage tax cuts are:

for $10,000 : 0.53%
for 1,000,000 : 0.63%

hardly socialism.

The Republicans are simply the agent of the rich and big business in the country. They have no other purpose except this. They have one problem. There are not enough rich people to win elections. They therefore set out to win over the idiot Christian fundys, the super patriots who don't understand why they are super patriots, the bigots which is how they won the south in their "southern strategy" and the mysogenists who don't want the little woman getting uppity. The tax chart clearly shows what is what.

Obama is actually right for once. The GOP wants tax cuts for the rich which they don't deserve, a reduction in the debt and deficit (they say), an increase in military spending and no significant cuts to social security or medicare. What part of this does not add up o they not get?

Not being an American, i will just make a casual observation: Anytime someone votes for a right leaning party, liberals assume they are either rich or stupid. This was openly stated during the last Toronto election. Maybe average people don't want a nanny state to take their money, spend it on the pet programs of the 'progressive agenda', and tell them how to live?

And BTW: in Canada the Liberal party is the 'Party of the Rich and big business'. A simple conclusion to draw...check where the party contributions come from.

Well I am and American and can say Eric Blair was spot on with his analysis of the GOP! You just have to take your time and digest the postings here of other right leaning Yank GOPers for further confirmation of what Eric Blair posted above is true!
