Well, after a nice run the Colts lost to the Chargers. Classy team and I hope they win it all, but it will be a battle.

The Colts looked surprisingly mortal today, even though they made a nice comeback and took the lead for a while. The Pats, Bengals, and Steelers all look good, so suddenly it doesn't seem like a Colts' cakewalk anymore.

In the NFC, the Giants tore the Chiefs a new one yesterday, the Seahawks were merely workmanlike in their win over the Titans, and the Cowboys are getting their asses kicked by the Redskins.

You still have to like the Colts to win the big one, but it will be interesting.

I saw the game too. It was a tough loss for the Colts. They came back at the end there but that last tipped pass resulting in an interception killed it. Too bad. Did you see the dissappointment on Mannings face? That is one guy that HATES to lose.

I am not sure if they will win it all this year though...we'll see...

Thank goodness, perhaps they can now just focus on winning the Superbowl with home field advantage and a dome finale.

The perfect season circus must have been distracting.

It'll be tough. I like Cin, NE, and *SD's chances but they all gotta go into Indy to win which will be a new wrinkle this year.

Sea or NYG in the NFC. Car has been too erratic.

I'm a Giants fan but I'm hoping for a Cin/Sea Superbowl.

* I know SD still has some work to do.

Yeah, I took SD in my pools and on my Pro-Line tickets.
I figured that after last weeks embarrasment by the Phins SD will have a good game regardless of who they play. The coltz are the best team in the NFL and I think this loss is actually good for them cause now they'll come back more hungry/focused and hopefully win the big dance. It must be really hard to keep winning and still be hungry. The beauty of losing now and then is it knocks you back down to earth and you get back you're focus..

By the way I lost my Pro-line on Seattle not covering. I knew Tenn would play them tight for the first half but I also thought Sea would score a late TD with their RB and cover.........I guess I was wrong, again:(

I thought that SD`s loss to Miami last week may have been partially due to the Chargers looking ahead to the Colts game. That was my logic behind taking Tennessee over Seattle this week. Did you see the Indy fans in the crowd yesterday? They were practically in tears! The team is 13-1, get a grip.

FWIW, in `98 when Denver was 13-0 after they lost #14 they lost the following week as well. It can be tough to come back when a strerak ends.

Best thing that could have happened to them (to lose). Now Tony Dungy can rest his starters without being pressured to strive for a perfect season. Did you see how many hits Peyton Manning took in yesterday's game? Their o-line is also very banged up. Losing yesterday has increased their odds of winning the Super Bowl IMHO.

Why??? He should be used to it by now. Wait, I guess if it were the playoffs, he would be used to it.

Steelers ? They make me laugh.. they are not up to it yet. Big Ben is over-rated and yes, Hines is good and so are the backs. However, I don't think they are there to win the big ones yet when they count.

I don't know how the Steelers win. Ben passes for 100 yards a game and puts the ball up in the air on average between 10 and 15 times a game. Everyone knows the Steelers are going to run the ball and no one can stop them. I guess it helps when 7 of your 16 games are gainst teams above .500. and 9 of your 16 games are against teams with 4 wins or less.

But that's been Steelers football ever since Cowher took office and really for their history. The joy of watching the Steelers play is knowing they are going to run the ball on 70% of their plays and seeing a team still not able to stop them. It's the ultimate punk-job in pro sports.

Back in the day, the Green Bay Packers had their power sweep, which they probably ran about a dozen times a game. Everyone knew it was coming, and they basically just defied anyone to stop them. The point is, good running games behind good o-lines are hard to stop. LT, Alexander, Barber, you trying to tell me defenses don't know these guys are getting the ball? Good offenses don't care. They'll just take it to you and stuff it down your throat.

Yeah, Big Ben is no Johnny Unitas. He might not even be another Terry Bradshaw or even a Terry Hanratty. But he doesn't have to be. You may not like the Steelers' formula, but it wins ball games.

The same way the Bears do ... They play good D, have adequate QB play and try to run the ball. The difference is they play in the AFC and a better division.

I agree that Big Ben is incredibly overrated and that whole rookie winning streak was bunk but I would take him over Grossman or Orton any day. I'm not buying Grossman as the "saviour" although he will get an ego builder against the Packers.
