Hey guys, I'm probably still one of the last guys on earth that still gets analogue cable from cogeco. Recently I was pissed that they cut 4 channels (CNBC, BET, GOLF Channel, speedvision) and put them only on digital. I kinda saw it as an attempt on cogeco's part to get me to switch to digital. Anyway with the whole digital switch going on in the states next year (and 2 yrs away in canada), am I just gonna get channels dropping out on my analogue service? Or won't cogeco just have to receive the digital format of whatever they carry and pump it through their analogue line?
Don't worry I will be making the switch to digital, hence my next question. I hate the idea of renting these digital boxes month 2 month and then paying for it twice over in 3yrs. Also hate the idea of purchasing an overpriced item from direct from the cable co. Can't I find out what brand they deal with (in this case motorola digital boxes) and then pick up a cheap box in the states, or am I bound to run into compatibility issues and stuff?
Lastly I'm getting conflicting info on different sides pertaining to the fact that you need a separate box for each TV. However, the cable co's website indicates that people can watch different things on up to 3 tv's.
Just trying to get the right info so when I'm "forced" to change over I know exactly what I'm getting into. Thanks
