Appears that sc are coming back Feb 21? At 25% capacity? My guess the ottawa clubs don't reopen until March 14 when full capacity is implemented....thoughts?

My interpretation is that SCs can open at 50% capacity on Jan. 31st, but I am not a lawyer. We'll see what happens...

Effective January 31, 2022
12:01 a.m. - increasing or maintaining capacity limits at 50 per cent in most indoor public settings, including but not limited to:
  • restaurants, bars, other food or drink establishments without dance facilities and strip clubs

It says without dance facilities and strip clubs. To me that means they are excluded from opening but bars without a dance floor or stripping are fine for Jan 31. But I’m no expert either.

According to their respective Instagram accounts Barefax is opening Tuesday, the first, while Nuden is opening Monday, the 31st.

From what I read on the weekend Strip clubs don't open until the 21 Feb, but that may be someone misinterpreting the regs. EDIT- Just checked and it seems they can open only as food and drink establishments tomorrow whatever that means. Probably no dances.

so let us parse this out, from the link above:

Effective January 31, 2022
12:01 a.m.

  • increasing social gathering limits to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors
  • increasing capacity at organized public events to 25 people indoors
  • increasing or maintaining capacity limits at 50 per cent in most indoor public settings, including but not limited to:
    • restaurants, bars, other food or drink establishments without dance facilities and strip clubs
singing and dancing in restaurants and bars and other select settings will not be allowed except for workers or performers
Strip clubs may open at 50% capacity.

patrons may not sing or dance. Performers (and I think we would all agree, that includes strippers) may "dance", whatever that may mean in the context of a strip club.

Effective February 21, 2022

  • increasing capacity limits to 100 per cent in the following indoor public settings where proof of vaccination requirements are in effect, including:
    • restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments and strip clubs
Strip clubs may open at 100% capacity.

Not that hard to read, is it?

Truckers are in town. That can only mean one thing: line ups at the SC as they will have to limit entry to 50% capacity until 21 Feb. Bad news the truckers may stick around if JT does not cave to their demands, so 21 Feb may not bring any reprieve at the SCs for the locals.

People who drive truck for a living and are not getting paid to drive their truck in circles around Parlliament Hill do not have cash for strippers. That being said, yes, let us lift all pandemic restrictions. we all need to get out and about and get the economy moving again. the vast majority of the unvaxxed are from the far right end of the political, religious and nutbar spectrum so an increase of covid in that segment of the population is an acceptable policy outcome. Let us see if the mods let this one slide, lol.

My apologies for the bad info. I looked at multiple sites to find the answers and it seemed that SCs were closed for anything other than food and drink until 21 Feb. It seems you found a more complete answer. Thanks.

i thought the truckers were being paid to do this. they raised 9 million on a gofundme and have so far reimbursed the protesting truckers 1 million of that.

dont you have to show you vaccine passport to get into barefax and the playmate?
You are right. I know for a fact that at Pigales, the waitress checks when she takes your order. Not sure how this works in other clubs.

All Covid-related stats posted on TERB should be ignored, as a rule, because they're likely made up by a misinformation spreader, somehow. And this ain't the New England Journal of Medicine, etc. site.

Yes, you are correct, there is a gofundme and many Canadians have generously supported the truckers through this effort. My understanding from the news reports though is that the persons who started the fund raising have a very tenuous connection to the trucking industry and a strong connection to dodgy far right WEXIT activity. It remains to be seen if gofundme is satisfied with the distribution processes and release the remainder of the cash. It is also doubtful in my mind that a clearly auditable and fair distribution of the funds will be made and that the truckers involved will properly benefit from the generosity of the Canadians across the country who support their protest demonstration.

Thank you for your response. Admittadly, my source was the link ottguy posted above. and it is from the Ford government, and we all know how trustworthy that is, lol. As with everything else, it does remain to be seen what may actually transpire.
