I think the new Commissioner of the NBA did a great job in handing down a quick, decisive decision in regarding the FORMER OWNER of the Clippers.
It makes you think, what kind of person who has African Americans play for him, coach for him and buy his tickets, would say such a irresponsible, Racist comments,
I mean really, Is he running for the head job of the KKK, is he trying to get invited to the National Racist Awards featuring Marge Schott as guest host?

Now all that being said (far be it for me NOT to piss somebody off lol) What ever happen to freedom of speech?
He was having a PRIVATE conversation on the phone with his girlfriend no less when SHE tape it and made it public, I mean really, who can you trust?

I think it speaks volumes for people who think they have such high moral values, so self righteous that they would tape a private conversation then release it to some Tabloid
TV show just to get there 15 minutes of fame. I think it was gutless and spineless. If he said those comments in general then fine but to have a private conversation tape?
Now his ex girlfriend is a hero.

It should make everyone think and think real hard before you say or do anything, any off the cuff remark or action may be recorded.
It's almost getting to the point of " anything you say or due may be recorded " thinking. Who would of thought that paranoia is sound thinking? Perhaps George Orwell.

Remember George Orwell wrote a book entitled 1984 about big brother watching very move we make and everything we do in the year 1984...it was written in 1949.

How scary is that?

Remember big brother and sister is watch or recording....be careful!

PS
People have the right to make decisions, they also will pay the consequences for those decisions.

I personally think he was set up by his ex wife, using his girlfriend, to tape his conversations because they knew what he's like and that he would, eventually, say a racist comment.
BOAT, TRAILER, HOOK, LINE, SINKER AND BAIT, man he took everything lol:biggrin1:

the lawyers are going to have a field day with this. No chance a private conversation could cost you 2.5m and the loss of a billion dollar business. Free speech my friends. And if it happens we should all be scared. I would hate to hear a recording of me and my friends at the cottage on a sat night.

This guy is far from done. He may be embarrassed by the racist remarks he made and the fall out from it, and he is finished as an NBA owner. BUT....he is an 81 year old billionaire about to get richer when the team sells.
The Clippers were little more than a prestigious toy to him that made him wealthier. He may be a low life and a racist but with the wealth and the power he has , far from done!

first of all i am white and don't like being refereed to or put in the same category as a racist by your comment "white people like the racist terms they use on minorities? they seem to pick on the sub-human factor of our races.. like the white ppl are superior to the rest of us " I think you could of used better terminology. Calling Caucasian people white is no different than calling Asian yellow,African Americans black or East Indians brown people.
With your ignorance you just showed racist tendency and I didn't have to record anything.
There is good and bad in every race, unfortunately you have just shown that with one finger tap on a keyboard you proved there is a little racism in all of us.

.
Don't give him too much credit ... He had a gun to his head ie if he didn't do enough there would have been Armageddon in the players rank ... The players would have not took the floor ie strike ..

At this point in his life his reputation was his most valuable thing and now it's gone in a very public way. For someone who is concerned about how others perceive them like Sterling is that's a big deal.

He's cashing in the sale of Clippers....I'd say he most probably got tired of the shit going around. He's far from done, he's been sued millions before. the GF tried to cash in on him and probably take the "the lady who took down Sterling route" and write a book on it. lol. Media as always fed on this shit like piranhas.

No dude. you called me a racist. I don't give a shit what you call me. It still does not take away from the fact that this a test to the way we live. And should not set a precedent.

Forbes had the Clippers valued at $575 million.

The Milwaukee Bucks, with an antiquated 25-year old arena, small market/local media revenue and a lousy roster, recently sold for $550 million... The Clips will fetch $1 billion.

...

I still shake my head at the lack of understanding of free speech and talk of conspiracy theories... This is 100% business and labour relations, nothing more.

I'd bet that David Stern was sought for advice, if he isn't running things behind the scenes anyways. He's too vested in the NBA to just retire from it 100%.

I think the new Commissioner of the NBA did a great job in handing down a quick, decisive decision in regarding the FORMER OWNER of the Clippers.
Although the NBA Commissioner did the right thing, he did it for the wrong reasons. He was caught between a leftist media backlash, and phone calls from Obama (who shouldn't even open his mouth about it).
In time, however, the NBA Commissioner will resign before this is over. The lawyers will probably make sure the wrong reasons overlap the "right thing".

P.S.: The owner of the Clippers is not the former owner. He still owns the team valued at $600M more than what he bought it for. He holds all the cards, the NBA Commissioner still holds the shit.
I think the Clipper players for removing their shirts in practice as some sort of crybaby revolt should all be indefinitely suspended. There was no place for that bullshit either.

Actually it's political. Some players that get the mic are mentioning, and I quote: "The President is an African American" as if it were a motive to over-penalize thought. It's political because Joe Biden and Barack Obama (the latter from Muslim Malaysia at the time), called the organization (i.e.: the NBA) and utilized the leftest press to stir more hate, and divert attention from John Kerry's hate remarks about Israel. Plus the White House just got caught over Benghazi, which is impeachable. It's more serious than it looks, thus they are stirring the hate mongers before Obama "at the top" gets kicked out.
