Users of fossil fuels have been paying only a fraction of the "cost" of production and use from the start. Adopting a more realistic approach is bound to strain more than a few pocketbooks...
Haven’t said otherwise. That’s just from the horses mouth. Nor does it explore, whether a blanket measure is “fair”. Want to compare your Januarys Nat gas home heating bill vs my propane bill. I’m betting the taxes I paid ( well over $200) are larger than your net bill. Luckily this was a mild winter. Some January and Februarys the taxes alone are more like $300….I’ll ignore ( Nov, Dec, Mar, Apr) and for many (Oct and May) and driving differences and public transportation differences.
And while it mentions it, it doesn’t dig into local economies. Luckily for me for well over 20 years I’ve grossed over 6 figures and have never had trouble finding a job. Nor do I presently have rug rats anymore for 20 years who also need to be driven everywhere and oh so very much more.
