CityTV: Now just as bland as CFTO and everything else.

Since Moses fled, cash and rage in hand, CityTV has become a bureaucratic bore, with not a single shred of innovative programming.

All the flagship shows are stale and tired, and there's simply nothing on that station that's worth watching anymore.

CityLine with Marilyn Dennis? C'mon--the show hasn't changed in ten years.

MediaTV? Is it even on anymore?

FashionTelevision: Look, it's the 90's show with a less than extreme makeover! "I'm Jeanie Beker..." (yea, we know that at this point!)

The New Music? George Stromboloupos' charm wore off at least two years ago.

Breakfast Television? Could someone make Kevin Frankish go away for ever. His smarmy suspenders and zero charm should stick to traffic, but on this show, he's a host!

City used to fly so high, take so many chances.

Now, no Moses, no magic.

At least CTV has punkd and Pimp My Ride.

CityTV...

I agree. I never watch CityTV. I do watch BT on CP24 every morning. But lately I have been asking myself why? The weather forecast in the upper right corner is always wrong. I am not interested in traffic reports. I think Lisa is dumber then dumb. I don't know why everybody thinks she is so good looking. I think she is very blah. Kevin thinks he is the man. He really needs to grow up. That weather girl (what's her name again?) is still in her training bra. Papercuts? Please... get a real job. HughLites... OK funny sometimes... but most of the time that's when I head for the shower.(I'm not a sports fan so I don't care)

So why do I watch it?

Oh...oh... now I know... now I know. MIKA!

Hawk, lol, you made my day. The weather girl still in her training bra....bwahahahahahahaha...She acts and sounds like a 12 year old...

Papercuts....lol...so true. Such a sad end for a Greenpeace founder to be passing his time. Pathetic!

Moses left?!?! Say it ain't so.
Long gone. He cashed out, but part of his buyout was to ease the transition. Unfortunately, he clashed with the new boys, and they forced him out.

Furious emails all round, then poof he was gone.

In a strange bit of synchronicity, Donald Trump and Mark Burnett are starting work on a reality tv show called "Atlantic City" and Moses has been asked to reprise his role in the movie of the same name.

Well I have been a faithful City TV viewer for 15 years now. I find the 6 o clock new informative and entertaining as well. They cover stories that I care about. Gotta give credit to guys like Gord for being with City TV since the beginning!

I can't believe Moses is gone.. did Libby leave as well?

City has not been the same since it moved from it slot at channel 79.

anyone else remember the precursor to muchmusic... City Limits?

or how about Rocket Robin Hood?

The 20 Minute Workout

Was it City that had the car driving, showing the streets of Toronto in the late hours of the night?

What has been so original about City TV for the past 15 years?

Nada!

They do their run their own fashion/movie/daytime shows but who the hell doesn't? All the other networks have the same crap in a different format.

Have you ever tried watching a movie on CityTV? They run as much ad time as they do actual movie!

Moses? He was an asshole. Martineau? Where else would he be employed? Ed the Sock? He was much nastier and more original on public television.

CityTV? Give me a break! They lost any edge they had years ago once Moses realized that his antique TV fetish became too expensive of a hobby to enjoy and switched formats to that of any regular TV station.

Would television be at a loss if CityTV shut down?

No.

City Limits was a show on MuchMusic. The New Music predates Much.

Are there any pictures of this Mika online? I never watch television that early in the morning, unless there's an F-1 race.

City Limits predates the New Music... City Limits was on very late Saturday nights... before MM came into existence

The 20 Minute Workout
this brings back some memories - when was it on, something like 6:30am? - can still see those 3 sisters of aerobic mercy aerobicizing in their matching leotards, on that white circular stage that would rotate in front of that all-white background ... there was nothing to distract you from their bodies moving to the music beat ...

and the stage would turn so you could see the 3 aerobicizing, from all angles; from the front, from the side, and from behind, and they would look down at the camera from between their legs when they did their deep bends from the waist - such good eye contact ... and there were (almost) always 3 of them in a triangle, somewhat symbolic of the female triangle ...

the audibles were good too ... "4 more, 3 more, 2 more, and take it to the right" ... and the cool-down ... "breathe-in, breathe-out, breathe-in, breathe-out" ...

and they never broke a sweat, so you just knew that the studio was cooled, and sometimes you could tell ... and sometimes you could see just a little bit more ...

yup, brings back some pretty nice memories :)

I miss the Not-So-Great-Movies. That's where all the bad Kung-Fu stuff was at!

Hey WhoiSyyOdadDy, I saw Rocket Robin Hood on the Toon network(ch.44) recently while channel surfing . I think it was on in the evening, maybe 8 or 9 pm. Cheers for now, Dabbler
