Diversity in options?
Kudos to the police in Ottawa for focusing on the important matter, which is assault and battery, not consensual sex. They ignored the option of charging the pimp.

In the past 5 years or so, police have come under great strain to keep up with increased violent crime and drug related issues in Ottawa. They have started a new group, "guns and gangs," within the police force, and it mops up most of their resources. My last job involved residential security, and boy could I tell you stories. Mostly it involves violent gangs of immigrants from Africa and Asia, mainly the former. So JG was correct in his post. But putting aside the shootings, drugs, beatings to death with a tire iron, etc. etc., I guess you could say there is an upside to "DIE-versity" -- the cops are too busy to bother hobbyists.

Diversity is strength not weakness but we should become more selective...........

Not charging for consensual sex may qualify for kudos to the police (though seeing someone who is pimped is not consensual in my book) but no kudos for ignoring charging the pimp (if this is true) which is as bad as assault and battery and should be on the top of their list. Not sure the latter is true though as I have lots of respect for law enforcement.

Those who know me know that I am very frank in my discussions and have debated controversial sometimes unpopular issues in the past (as why I was banned from cerb in 2013). I don't shy away from expressing my views (no matter how unpopular they may be IF I believe it is right as I do strongly believe in freedom of expression within of course certain limits).

As for Diversity, there is nothing wrong with diversity in fact it is great. I enjoy very much every time that I walk in downtown Montreal or even downtown Ottawa and see diverse (female) faces. The cute Filipinos faces, the cute oriental Chinese and those from South east Asia, the Africans cuties, the beautiful Middle Eastern faces (with or without hijab as I am more than fine with with hijab if it is HER choice), the cute Hispanic faces, the diverse Eastern European faces as well as beautiful Caucasian faces. It would have been boring if every face was the same (white only). Also I enjoy trying a variety in food. We are fortunate to have so much options to have Chinese food, Vietnamese, Lebanese, Mexican, Eastern European. Just imagine having to eat Cheeseburger and fries everyday!!!!. Not to mention Very beautiful unique mixed race faces which I love and they are increasing in number. I strongly believe that it is the size of the heart and mind that only matters NOT the color of skin, or race or religion or orientation. i believe in total equality regardless of race , religion, gender, national origin, language and orientation. remember we (or our parents or grand parents or ancestors) are all immigrants (unless you are native Canadian) and Canada was built on immigration and by immigrants

All above said as great as Diversity is, I think we need to re-visit our immigration policy. Currently it is based on a point system which is great putting all those illegals and refugees aside!!!!. I think that the latter is the problem. We need to screen out criminals more vigorously. The flow of illegal immigrants and refugees has been a strain on our health and education systems so that for example long time tax payer seniors cannot receive the medical help they need because new comers from third world most of them suffering from illnesses and diseases have joined the lineup. We also should admit those culturally compatible, especially screen out those who may lack respect for women and other religions and cultures and feel their own is the only one and their way is the only way. Immigration officers must be given the authority or option to reject an application in the interview (not regional screening but cultural screening out of those incompatible applicants). Taking everyone who may knock on our door considering there are hundreds of millions of refugees around the world and illegal immigrants almost all from third world countries lacking skills and education who may have no choice but to form criminal gangs or participate in crimes and drugs may likely create a future Canada none of us wishes to see. A third world unsafe country. We need to be more selective in admitting future immigrants and screen out much more vigorously for criminals and those with cultural incompatibility. Remember immigration is supposed to benefit Canada (as in most cases it does) not the other way round. My 2 cents.
