I haven't missed a Toronto Cirque performance in ages.
Pay the extra for the closer seats...they have backs on them.

How about "terb night at the cirque"??? If we get enough people together I am sure we could get a group rate......
In the meantime, go see "The Producers". Great entertainment all round. And I know you TERBites will love the 6'2", blonde and gorgeous Sarah Cornell as the Swedish bombshell, "Ulla". In the words of Max Bialystock, "Ooohwawawawawawa!!!"
Got my tickets before Christmas. They weren't even sure of where the venue would be at that time. I think it will be at Ontario Place or the exhibition grounds, but haven't heard yet. My performance is in September.
I do wish I çould be excited by Cirque du Soleil - but I find it insufferably pompous and arty-farty to a ridiculous degree. All that production - and the fancy-dancy tent they erect to house the show in the first place - costs a lot of money, so no wonder the tickets are $100 and up.
But - and I am really not a phillistine and I respect other peoples' views - I'd rather spend the money on other artistic endeavours. Like the Original Serena, Annalee, Dianna at Roommates, Jenn Angel, or the sadly-retired Ms. Miranda, who still has to tell me when she wants me to take her to lunch.

Like I intimated, I know I'm in a small minority here - but, yes, I HAVE seen two previous Cirque shows, and - again - I found them overblown, inflated, arty-farty, expensive, and stuffy. Skilled performers? Yes indeed - but all that symbolism and nonsense....too much for me!
And the music? Puhleeze! Vacuous, vacant, new age noodling and far too many synthesizers for this old bluesman....

Just to let anyone who may be interested know that Cirque has released a number of extra shows in September. There are still good tickets available. This is still presale, tickets are on general public sale on Saturday. Log in and beat the crowds.
I saw Quidam twice last year. Once here in Detroit, then I took my children to Cleveland to see it again. I don't know how anyone can not be moved by those performers. I was blown away. I enjoyed the whole production, the sights and the sounds. At the end, when all the performers gathered around the stage for the applause, it was very touching. Nothing wrong with a little culture is there?
I've already got my ticket to see the Toronto show. I saw "O" and "Mystere" in Las Vegas Last Year. Cirque is amazing!!

Speaking of Cirque and Las Vegas...there is a new Cirque show that is playing called Humanity or is it Zooomanity??? Something like that, and it is suppose to be a bit more "adult oriented" then the usual Cirque du Soleil stuff.

I went to the circus school in Toronto for a corporate "team building" and nearly got a serious woody from watching a female gymnast performing some moves while hanging from some fabric in the ceiling.
