Circumcision from a pure mechanics viewpoint

The most sensitive part of the penis is the glans, and here there's a layer (a double layer, actually) between the stroking hand and the glans. It's like wearing a condom, even when you're not wearing a condom. In order to increase sensation, either that skin has to be pulled down out of the way all the time (good luck doing that during intercourse...unless perhaps you use zip ties) or, if the skin is removed, then the glans is in direct contact with anything and everything that rubs against it.

Not considering things like body mutilation, the rights of infants, etc, and all the other issues, it would seem that to maximize sensation during sex, the foreskin should be eagerly dismissed with, and I'm surprised that it's not a more readily sought elective surgery, since people do all sorts of things to increase the joy of sex, from meds to body modification to extreme taboos.

I know circumcision has its roots in the Bible and it's in some places a political thing, but it's like saying to a stock car racer wouldn't racing slick tires give you better performance, I doubt they'd say maybe so but the factory ones have grooves in them so that's what I'm running!

Actually. After thousands of years you would think there would be a definitive answer as opposed to all the vague conjecture. If being uncut was so great and cut being so catastrophic, you'd think there would have been hoards of villagers storming the hospitals with tiki torches and pitchforks to stop the mutilations.

That happened to a friend of mine back in the day. He was German and uncircumcised. In his mid twenties he went on vacation to Mykonos, and went nude sunbathing for the first time ever. Got a sunburn so bad on his dick that he had to get circumcised. Was not a happy camper...

I really miss my foreskin. Could play with it and smell it all day as a kid.
Plus, when I get a massage I often have to push the hand downward as the glans are sensitive and even more so during release.

My guess is that the mind/brain compensates for the loss to some degree. Like when somebody loses a limb, but can still "feel" it and sometimes even experience pain in the limb that's no longer there.

I've read of people who got snipped as adults and they said it was no big deal.

Also if it did kill sensitivity as some claim... well better to not have a forskin than have to think about baseball stats, grandma and Kathy Bates in About Schmit to keep from expressing your gender fluids.

Being uncircumcised is not the worst thing. I am uncut but manage my foreskin, it is stretched and retracted always. Masturbation was always easy, no lotions creams or oils required.
Having phimosis on the other hand is a problem and why most adult men undergo circumcision.

Rotten dot com used to have a short video of an African circumcision. The young man's penis was placed on a table or tree stump, his foreskin was stretched to its maximum length, then most of it was lopped off with a machete.
