Never understood the appeal of Home Alone, it looked like a Khmer Rouge training video to me.

I always thought Bob Clark was Canadian, Black Christmas was one of the first films funded from Toronto with an almost Canadian cast. Nine years later, he made A Christmas Story...and he was born in New Orleans.

Alan Fuckin Rickman! I loved him in Galaxy Quest.

Apparently the look on his face wasn't acting it was real.

Rickman was held with a rope by a team and was told that he would be released on the count of three to fall 40 feet onto a crash pad, Charlie Picerni, the film’s stunt coordinator, explained on Netflix’s The Movies That Made Us.

“But I told the stunt guys, let him go on one,” Picerni added.

The fear and shock seen on Hans’ face was the real deal, which is what Picerni wanted.

Now refresh my memory here. Where is there violence is said film?
I'm glad that somebody asked.

Old man Gower beat up on young George when there was a mixup in a prescription that was actually Gower's fault. The beating caused George's bad ear to bleed from the inside.

According to iMDb, H.B. Warner was drunk in real life when they shot the scene where his character, Mr. Gower slaps little George (played by Robert J. Anderson) for not delivering the medication. Also, those slaps weren't playacting; Warner really hit the boy and caused him to bleed.

There is a new one called Fatman with Mel Gibson about a disgruntled kid who pays a hitman to kill Santa. Going to try it out over the holidays.

National Lampoons Christmas Movie with Chase is not violent with guns but the same as A Wonderful Life, the self-deprecating humor.

Here is a list to the several movies with violence.

Sounds like Mel is keeping it classy - as always!
