Children gone wild in hotels

I'm a patient person.

I love kids - all I ever wanted to do was teach....

But Oh My Fucking Gawd!

When parents let their kids run down the halls of upscale hotels - when I complain and the dumb ass parents get a visit from security - then 2 minutes later I see 10 year old boys throwing ottomans down the Hallway...

I want to punch your incompetent parent face.

(venting... but seriously - control your children when you're in a hotel)

Thing is with a kid, when they see a long hallway a natural instinct kicks in to run as fast as they can.

Things that are natural with kids:

* Age 3 - 5: When naked, they will take off and run. Anywhere and everywhere.

* Age 6 - 10: When in a long corridor/hall/path/bridge/escalator, they will run the length.

Rolling ottomans down a hallway, well that's when a responsible adult should step in...

Parents won't disipline there little "darlings" quite like they used to. This applies to restaurants as well.

Cripes when I went to go see Captain America last week someone brought their 6 year old who was a chatterbox. Finally had to tell them ten minutes into the movie to stop. Really? Should I have to? If the kid can't sit for it wait for the damn video!

You should run through the hallway naked too, and then let parents see you maybe then they Will keep kids inside. Did you also complain to security how these kids are disturbing your business?

I know kids will be kids but parents just ignore kids and let them run rampant quite often. I think there is a balance, and it is also time and place. Hallways of hotels should not be a playground and noise levels should be kept down to not disturb the rest of the hotel guests. Shitty that you have to deal with that :(

Kids today will often challenge people, it is useless to even argue with them or try to talk some sense into them. The parents are often to blame. Kids will walk into an intersection against the red light wanting you to honk your horn at them so that they can give you the finger. They do not like it when I honk only after they have cleared my car and I give them the honk, honk, honk, honk, honk, instead of one honk. I also do not look at them when they put their finger into the air. Do not give them the satisfaction.

Can we get a diagram of this please?

Ever consider the possibility thye may be Autistic as well?

I'm serious.

As far as those who are not...well kids are hyper.

No doubt we were at that age as well.

Deal with it.
Any parent with an autistic kid likely would not be stupid enough to leave their child unsupervised in a public place. Simply asking for a visit from cas or begging to file a missing child report

The grown up kids are the ones who iritate me in hotels. Loud talking, music at 2 am. On the plus side, people with little kids don' t wreck the peace and quiet later at night.

I find higher end hotels have alot less kids in them. You won't find alot of kids running around hotels like One King West,King Edward,HarbourFront....
If you stay at the Holiday Inn your just asking for trouble. They are very popular for hockey teams, school trips.

Sometimes the extra $$ are worth it.

lol - I appologize...

i use hotels often and it's a regular thing...

I get that kids are hyper - but it blows my mind that parents allow half of what I see every weekend in hotels.

....

deep breath and exhale :D
Not sure you should be apologizing Jenn. Inappropriate behavior like you have described can be a curse in hotels, restaurants etc. It must be really difficult if it is distracting for you and a client in a session. I used to visit an escort 2-3 times a month in Oshawa who entertained in a really nice basement apartment. I had to give up on her due to the noise upstairs from the owner and her children.

Parents don't discipline their kids like they used to thanks to psychological studies, books etc that say you shouldn't hit your kids. Sometimes a kid needs a good ass kicking (case in point in this example). All I know is if I was 10 years old and acting like that in a public place I wouldn't be sitting for the next two days.

Sometimes it seems to go beyond this. I see parents that do not even attempt to rein in their little monsters.

No apology needed.

Deal with it.
Um, no. That we were kids as well is besides the point.
When I'm paying good money to stay in an upscale hotel, you can rest assured I will not simply 'deal with it'.

+1

Agreed. I've no compunction about calling security once things reach the point of unreasonable.
There is no way I will put up with bullshit like that if anything can be done about it.
