Chat room log-in problems

Same frustration here. I get the following message:

"Login failed - you must log in from the review board message board.
m-curiousgeorge2006
r-"

I've adjusted numerous settings and even tried on 3 different computers to no avail. :confused:

Any help or further suggestion offered is much appreciated!

If you have Norton Internet Security (or some other security program) try turning off Privacy Control before you click the 'Chat' option up top. That usually fixes the problem.

Thanks CK, and special thanks to Hunter for the help. I'll relay the info that helped me get onto the chat on this thread now.

For those of you who have the "wonderful" Rogers/Yahoo Online Protection package...

1.) Go to Start > All Programs > Rogers Yahoo > Rogers Yahoo Online Protection

2.) Click on "Norton Personal Firewall" in the new windows that pops up, then click the "Access Firewall" button

3.) ...brings up another window: click on "Privacy Control", then click the "Turn Off" button.

4.) log into chat, then come back to this window and turn the same button back on.

Unfortunately, you have to do this every single time you log into chat (unless you keep Privacy Control off all of the time).

I hope this helps some of you. My thanks for the kind help from Hunter! :)

I Cann't Sign

Hi how are you doing? I was just wondering how come i cann't sign in to the chat room? Or did i get blocked from chat and getting to know poeple....

Turns out my Norton Internet Security blocks the chatroom script to log-in.
I can get into chat by going into my Privacy Control --> Configure --> Custom Level --> Then I remove the checkmark for "Enable Browser Privacy".

Hasn't worked since yesterday. Maybe the server crash and all the King's men are working on putting it together again.

Tried logging into chat from both MERB and PERB, which worked a couple of weeks ago during the server upgrade. No luck this time.

Hope the chat regs are holding up during the blackout! :(
