I recently returned after a hiatus from hobbying and I am shaking my head at what seems to be a new direction this industry is taking. There are a few things that really make me wonder how bad things are really going to get.

Bait n switch. When I started seeing ladies, it was only the Asian ads you would book to see a 23 year old Japanese model only to have the door answered by a 30-40 year old looking Chinese woman which meant she was really 50. Sure there was the occasional other lady that would post a body pic of someone else with almost the same features. Or someone would post their pics from five years ago but it wasn't as common as what it's like now. In one night the other day I had three bait and switch. First one I booked, I even asked if the pics were her because she almost seemed too good to be true and she assures me the pics are 100% her. Get there and they are not so I call her on it and she claims for her safety she has to use someone else's pics, yet she has another ad posted with her actual pics. So clearly she is 100% full of shit, so I walked out. Try to see option B and she is a bait and switch so I walk on her and then ditto for option C. After I leave option C I get a text from her calling me an asshole for leaving, so I respond saying use real pics and she doesn't respond. Needless to say I went hope after option C.

YMMV. A few years ago, ymmv would be something that seemed more common in either younger SP's starting out or the cheaper ones. Now it seems like even "reputable" ladies are ymmv. I saw one lady that had nothing but glowing reviews and guys would rave about the service she provided. Seemed like an easy slam dunk for a good time. She is easily in my top three, if not number one worst experience ever. Issue almost immediately upon entering the door and I should have cut my loses and left right then but I stuck around and it just got worse.
Make matters worse, some of these ladies now are even openly talking about how if you do X you will get better service. Seriously? You say your rate is X so X is what you get an there shouldn't have to be Y or Z included to get good service out of the appointment.

Lastly and most disturbingly, discretion. Discretion is a key to this industry, everyone should know this but seems some no longer care. I went and saw Lady A and a couple days later I am talking with Lady B and Lady B mentions me seeing Lady A. WTF? I wasn't blacklisted, I wasn't a bad client, Lady B wanted to see me after what she heard but why is Lady A even mentioning seeing me? I know some guys might find it flattering that ladies are talking about them to other ladies, I find it disturbing since discretion is what this industry is about.
Top that off with, I contact another SP and she asks for my full name, occupation and age before booking. First off, occupation is something you never need to know. You can ask but there is no circumstance for "your safety" you need to know it. Second, why do you need my full name? I remember when any part of a name was optional. So I respond with John Smith, lawyer, 55. She tells me if I am not going to be serious then she wont see me. So I tell her when she give me her real full name and age then I will do likewise. She says I am being rude to her and this is for her safety and she needs discretion. Sorry honey but it's a two way street, if you won't give me your real name then you can't expect me to give you mine.

Just wondering, how long was your hiatus?

With social media and the way our world is turning (economically, taboo stuff being less taboo, etc) I think this industry has become more glorified. Why would you study for 4 years and have such a stressful time when you can become a dancer/SP and make 100k a year and party the whole time? (strippers on IG post it all the time, and there are countless memes/tweets/blogs stating this). So now, what I think has happened is a lot of girls are in it for the money and not the passion. There were always going to be girls like that, but you also had your SPs who really had a passion for this job, but that has become less and less.

On the other side, you have the Johns. I think we used to be more discreet, and the percentage of people who frequented this industry was much lower. Before, going to a strip club was sort of a big deal, and many would make it a birthday event or just keep it on the low if they frequent it. Now you have guys booking 10 escorts, or booking up a whole massage parlor for a birthday party. Almost everytime guys go clubbing, after the club they're on backpages trying to find who's still working late. I think almost every guy above 20 has now had at least one experience with either an MPA or an SP, whereas before there was a stigma of "don't pay for p**sy".

TL;DR: the industry has become saturated with more SPs and more Johns (top quality SPs want more discretion and are therefore more selective/harder to book, OR ymmv due to pure high volume) so the quality of the overall service has gone down.

You can still find gems ofc, but when you have a gem that sees maybe 2-3 guys a day, and a review gets written about her and 20+ guys contact her everyday, her overall service is going to most likely depreciate since she'll be overworked and tired and most likely encounter more shitty people

Booking with reputable agencies or independents will help you to avoid most if not all of these issues.

The only one it would avoid is bait and switch, hopefully.
YMMV was a reputable indy. Discretion issues were reputable indies as well

To me, it is not acceptable but it happens. Unless there is a safety issue or an SP providing a reference to another SP, clients should not be discussed with others without his knowledge and approval. Unacceptable. Discretion is paramount unless it is absolutely necessary to share information.

Maybe the YMMV is predicated on you getting older and less attractive. I can honestly say I believe this had happened to me as well. 5 years ago I was finding that I never had any issues getting "extras" and never had a SP tell me no with some becoming friends and would hang out socially. Then as I got older and entered my 40's I was working harder and longer and started to gain weight and become out of shape I noticed I did get a couple of SP's that spoke of this "ymmv" thing and I found restrictions announced and enforced. I too thought the industry must be changing and thought nothing more about it. It wasn't till I got back in the gym for a few months dropped the extra weight and got back in the shape I started to notice that the "ymmv" went away and I had better experiences with SP's. Not sure if this applies to you but something I did personally notice.

1. You are doing it wrong, and not doing enough research to find a quality interaction. All my encounters are 8/10 at least because I do the research.
2. You sound like a "Yeah But..." kind of person. So maybe this isn't the right hobby for you.

Yup, there's more bait n switch. Stick with reputable and verified.

I see some Lady's who know I see other Lady's who are friends. I'm sure they talk.
One lady got upset that I mentioned her to another. You don't get it both ways, if you're discrete, I'm discreet. So I ask the Lady's I see not to mention me and they ask the same.
Posting reviews or even twitter posts breaks anonymity. I review a lady and all her friends know I've seen her. Lady's are posting publicly on here or twitter who there clients are and even who bought them gifts, letting others know. Maybe it's bragging, but sometimes it a sincere thank you.

I can see a lady asking for a real name for security reason. Maybe the occupation is so she can check out your linked in as well as your Facebook. All she wants is safety. I give credit to Lady's, it must take a lot of courage to meet and be vulnerable to random strangers. Most Lady's will take a reference from another reputable lady. No you don't get her real name, she needs anonymity for discretion, to avoid stalkers, so you don't interfere in her real life.
If you don't pass a Lady's screening process, move on. Lots of other choices.

Guess you missed the part where I said I met a lady that was highly recommended, glowing reviews.
You sound like the kind of guy that is just happy a young woman lets you see them naked.

This right here. As a person that went from fit to fattie to fit again YMMV shows up a WHOLE lot more when you have an extra 50 lbs on you. I chuckle when I hear "Just show up with a sweet personality , clean and the right spirit and everything will be awesome!!!".........(Fart noise)...horseshit. Show up not fat and things go a lot better. Sorry guys, it's just the way she goes.

P.S I'm much sweeter in person to the ladies then that sarcastic comment

If the lady that needs that much security that she needs to be able to search up your linked or facebook then she is in the wrong industry.
Discretion is a two way street. Why should a lady be able to get all your info while giving you none herself? That is beyond safety. You want a recommendation from another SP, no problem got plenty that will give one. There is no reason for me to have to divulge personal information just for her to feel secure. You can have an email, a phone number, a handle on a board no problem. My real full name and occupation is going too far.

And I won't see that lady, if that is her screening test and people willing accept it then they are either crazy or actually giving out fake information which is easy enough.

Usually that far into screening is those that are "new",that being in quotations as new usually means they either don't want to give a reference as no one will give a good one or are blacklisted. In Toronto there is about a handful of providers who screen like this indepth primarily.

Fair enough, however I wasn't asked for references. Her screening process at the very beginning was asking for personal information.

100% true, this is the real world and the op should get use to it, either hit the gym or have a really fat wallet as those are the only two things that will be a help to you here in this world or out in the vanilla world!

Okay that I understand, for myself I require personal information if no active handle or references but each there own! Stick to procedures you're personally comfortable with, on the bait and switch that's truest unfortunately I've found many stealing my pictures out west.
