My response was specific to TeeJay's comment:
Its a super minor case
Not like anyone was injured or anything
It appears that most on this thread are thinking along the same lines that I am. That being:
To suggest that "no harm no foul" in a situation as potentially disastrous as this is just wrong. It inevitably leads to others assuming they would also not see consequences as long as they don't maim anyone. To oagres specific points: 19 year old's are just as responsible as 29 year old's and 59 year old's. Presuming there is no criminal record (and even if that is the case) does not change the irresponsibility of the act. Ditto for her IQ level. She cooperated when her video went viral. My gig does not include determining appropriate sentencing for criminal activities but in addition to time behind bars (1 year is my two cents) I think that, as this appears to be motivated by the "look at me" social media hunger phenomenon she should be somehow directed to be talking to high school students about the potential disaster in unthinking fun gone wrong. A form of "community service" if you will. I've met some terrifically responsible young adults that give you a good feeling about the future, then you see these selfish, spoiled brats and you just wonder what happened to their parents.
