Would like to see a fantasy series between the CFL champs and the NFL champs. Maybe two games, one each using CFL and NFL rules/fields.
Anyone think the CFL'ers would stand a chance?
Would they step up as the underdogs and cast offs with something to prove? Would the NFL'ers self destruct in overconfidence and flash (ala Dream Team)?

CFL champs would not stand a chance. Even a CFL all-stars team would have a tough time competing with the bottom feeding teams in the NFL. But you never know, anything can happen, especially in football.

The recent "dream teams" weren't that good and a lot of the Euro teams have closed the gap. The gap is basketball is closer than the gap between the NFL & CFL.

thats not a good comparison, if the US put their best 12 NBA players and they set their egos aside, they would murder anyone on any given day, quick how many awesome European NBA players can you think of, maybe 5!!

as for the CFL NFL, the CFL is basically a league of guys that werent good enough to cut it with the big boys in the NFL or waiting their turn to do so, anyone really think they stand a chance in any set of rules

But would a championship team that has played together, jelled, and won all year step up and be competitive and maybe catch them off guard, or would it be an automatic slaughter? Could be surprising and fun to watch.
But I wouldn't wager any $ either though.

I think if they did play that kind of tourney seeing the CFl season is done in November the date would be hard to do. But under NFL rules it would be a slaughter with the NFL champ winning big. Just bigger and faster player down there.
Under CFL rules they might stay close for a while but once the NFL teams starts to get used to it, it would turn into another slaughter.
A few players down here might open some eyes but most just are not as good as the NFL players.

CFL doesn't stand a chance. But that's not to say that the CFL players aren't talented or entertaining to watch.

You can't expect a team made up of the best guys that couldn't make the NFL to beat a team of NFL players.

Just look how the NFL'ers dominate when they come to Canada. There's the dope fiend who rushed for 500 yards. Vince Ferragamo really dominated when he came to Canada.

Overall, the NFL has better athletes but that doesn't mean a CFL team couldn't beat a NFL team. I could see the best CFL team beat a bottom-feeding NFL team.

It's interesting, I think, that R Williams did so poorly in the CFL, as I had expected him to have his run of the place. Also, it's worth noting that the CFL currently includes Heismann Trophy winners, surely no slouches! (and it has included HT winners for many years....)

The top CFL team could not beat any of the top 25 US college teams.

And I could'nt care less what Ricky Williams did not do while he was here.

The top CFL team could beat any of the top 25 US college teams. A lot of players in the CFL come from top 25 college teams. How many players on the 23rd ranked team in 2005 play in the NFL?

So you think that the top CFL team beats Ohio State or Florida ??

No chance at all
but I guess we would have to figure out the rules etc.

I think it would be 70-21 with NFL rules

and maybe something like 38-24 cfl rules

Both for the US college team
