Cell phone help!!

I need help on info. regarding "pay as u go" phones......i want the cheapest one, as I am "rationing" on my choice of cell phone use. As well, it'll be my first time buying such a phone, as I normally go on contracts. Anyways, I also have another question: say I use the phone for 2 months and after that there're no more minutes left......how long can I not use the phone for it to be deactivated?

For Bell's pay as you go, about 8 months max.

I just bought a $25 air time card for my pay as you go phone last month. Got the phone last December and left idle after brief usage. Staff at the Bell store had to check the status of that phone before I made the card purchase. And you do , as I did, get a call from the company to remind you of your phone idle status 3 ,4 months after the initial credit ran out.

The only way to go IMO. I have tried pay-as-u-go plans and phones from Bell, Fido and Telus. Telus has by far been the best for me. They not only have best rates and service also best reception I found.

As faras how long can you be down without loosing #... I once let it go for 60 days... then they mailed me a notice to top up my account with-in another 60 days or lose my #. No prob. I just threw $10. on it and it was good again.

Rogers will let you go a year before deactivating your line. Bell and Rogers seem pretty much the same as far as pricing goes. $149 will get you a basic phone with either company. With Bell you can purchase extra bunches of airtime (like evenings or weekends or both starting at 15/month) I dont know anything about Telus but have heard good things about their prepaid service and they do tend to have cool phones.

i attach the phone to my seatbelt, that way all i have to do is tilt my head to the left a little bit....no problem

Cantel vs. Bell

I've had both Bell Mobility and Cantel Pay As You Go. I prefer Cantel because their service range for pay as you go is not as restrictive as Bell. For example, if I travel to Calgary, Banff, Vancouver - anywhere outside Ontario, I can still use my Cantell Pay As You Go. However, with Bell, if you're on one of their Pay As You Go systems, you can't use the phone outside of Ontario, unless you have a yearly contract with them on one of their phone plans.

If being able to hold onto your purchased minutes is important, don't go with Fido. Any airtime you pre-pay for has to be used within 30 days or you lose it.

Other than Fido, the only company I've had experience with is Telus for my Mike/Clearnet phone. It's not pay as you go, but I didn't have to enter into any contract and I can cancel at any time.

I'm on both Bell and At&t.
Bell has a good plan after6pm, but I hate loading minutes in /cause you got to listen to that stupid message.
I also would like to tell that Melonie off from At&t , she pretends she doesn't hear me.
The best phone I ever had was a Sony, that thing would work anywhere.
