Also from the OP thread comments:

" Actually people ignored it and it wasn’t “quietly updated” it was the same last month... the 6% and 94% was literally the same but again, it’s “news” now...[rolly eyes image]"

and

" It's not a quiet update. I can't believe how far and wide this misinformation is spreading. That has been on that page since May."

and

" I went to the CDC site and you are misunderstanding their published results. In the late 80s HIV was a death sentence and painful one and I remember at the time people would argue “This is a hoax no one is dying from HIV b/c they were dying from complications from HIV. Also.. "

and

"No - no no no. I work in the nursing home industry. The average person in a nursing home has five or six serious illnesses going on. So when they get Covid and they die, it’s from the Covid. It’s no different if they get pneumonia and die - it’s from the pneumonia."

and

" You have misinterpreted this and it seems to have made you upset, so allow me help:

This says 94% of people who died of COVID-19 had at least one comorbidity.

It does not mean the official number of people who died of the disease has been reduced by 94%."

etc

It is a good thing that most American's do not have comorbidities like; being overweight, diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, etc..., it is also a good thing that America has single-payer healthcare to ensure they are healthy. Imagine a universe where most Americans are not healthy and lack health insurance, in such a universe I would estimate that there would be over 6 million infected and close to 200k deaths, thank god that is not the universe American lives in.

The headline is shocking, but the bigger question for me is "how many people would have survived had COVID-19 not been around?" It's one thing to say only 6% of people had COVID-19 as the only reason for their deaths, but it's another to say "COVID-19 caused only a 6% uptick in deaths".

Instead of fighting among yourselves, you should be celebrating the confirmation of the original estimate re. Covid. If you're not too old and in a relative good health, you can go on with your lives.

Those people would still be alive today though. Does the flu have the same effect on people with morobitidies, I admit I've never heard that word before.

What "original estimate"? What "confirmation"? Celebrating what?

"go on with your lives"? What was stopping you before? Go on? How? Acting irresponsibly w/o masks & social distancing, etc & putting others lives at risk.

Death isn't the only concern. There are also many getting negative long term health consequences from being infected.

" COVID-19 symptoms can sometimes persist for months. The virus can damage the lungs, heart and brain, which increases the risk of long-term health problems. Most people who have coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) recover completely within a few weeks."

I don't think you can really judge which Country had it right until the pandemic is over. For all we know these shutdowns just delayed the inevitable.

Fairly sure we can, through the magic of science.

You see someone that thinks that only 6% died from the virus most probably did not catch the sarcasm of this post ;)

Hopefully with my face in a pussy
Bullshit. Only 9,000 died as a direct result of COVID-19. The rest had underlying conditions, which meant that COVID-19 made them easier to kill. The number is still over 180,000, no matter how you try to spin it.

Rule of thumb: Just because some bloke posts a video doesn't mean he knows his arse from a hole in the ground.

So since these were all random people, does that mean 94% of Americans have underlying health conditions?

You Red Herd brainiacs are something else.

News Flash... – NOBODY DIES FROM COVID 19!!! They die from what the Coronavirus brings to the party – pneumonia and high fever. People with underlying health issues, asthma, heart troubles, certain cancers, etc. things that can be controlled or not immediately life-threatening, become, with Covid 19, immediately deadly – as it has for 186k dead Americans. This is really NOT rocket science. Honest.
