CBC is showing "India's daughter" tonight at ten.

Its banned all over, Indians are angry they don't want it shown, they have one of the rapist killers in an interview complaining that the women fought back, ....they shouldn't fight back. I can't even find it on youtube.

The documentary “India’s Daughter,” by the British filmmaker Leslee Udwin, recounts the infamous and brutal rape and murder of a young woman on a bus in Delhi in 2012, an incident that sparked protests and spurred a national conversation about women’s rights and safety. The film was scheduled to be broadcast on the BBC in India this weekend, but a last-minute intervention by the Indian government banned its release.

Reminds me of an old movie with Michael J Fox and Sean Penn called casualties of war, that was based of true story.

I agree, I didn't watch it yet but the Indians say its very unfair because it makes them look real bad, and it dosen't rapresent the majority. They're over a billion.

At least these guys were brought to justice pretty quick, and there sentences were to be hung, but it's currently in the appeal process. One guy was found dead hanging in jail (they don't know if it was murder or suicide). The youth got away with a slap on the wrist.

That is why sex trade workers don't want to service E.I. men and has been the subject of several threads on this board.

I saw the program. What happened to Jyoti Singh is so horrific it would bring any normal person to tears. She worked in a call center to pay for her education. Apparently, her English was very good and she may have taken calls from English speaking countries like Canada.
