I think they can sense if somebody likes them. I have several times experienced a cat going out of his/her way to annoy somebody that does not like cats. Can cats sense a person's nature?, that is can they tell if a person is good or evil?
Sorry for your loss. We had the most wonderful cat who lived to be 17. He died a couple years ago and yes, it was really hard saying good bye. The best thing you can do is give another kitty a good home. That's what we did. You'll be much happier, trust me.I had my cat Wilbur for over 15 years he got very sick and I had to have him put to sleep in July. It was one of the worst days of my life, I still miss him
I dunno, it would suck if we only lived to 15-20.Truly saddened to read this.........I am so sorry for all your losses.
Pets become such an important part of our lives. Too bad we outlive them.....
After your cat leaves you, for years you will think that if you just walked into the next room you will see them curled up sleeping on your bed or sofa. If you get a new cat you will think that it is the former cat come back in a younger form.I had my cat Wilbur for over 15 years he got very sick and I had to have him put to sleep in July. Iguanas can actually be quite affectionate.Humans, reptiles and lizards not so much.
The majority of Calico cats are female and the majority of orange or tan cats are male, but it is not impossible to have a male Calico or tan female. Most white cats with blue eyes are deaf, but not all.^^ I think that Callie is a cute name for a Calico. I love Calicos! I think that they are almost always female.(?) I believe that the rare male calico is sterile.
I know, but she's sniffed it many times before and then just turned away. Upped her game a bit this time.BossN. When you sniff your scotch it is a bouquet. For your cat it was a nasal irritant, hence the sneeze.
Same with Tortoise.Iguanas can actually be quite affectionate.
+1000I have had cats most of my life.
I had to put my last one down about 1.5 years ago now. Hurt me so much to do it that I haven't gone to the shelter to adopt a new one. Think about it every day though.
2 of my cats were diabetics. Had to give then insulin shots twice a day. No problem though. They championed through it. I find them fascinating as animals. Was a dog person growing up but my first wife convinced me on getting a cat when I was 19 and after that I was all in.
Took in 2 strays over the years too. I would have to say the strays were the best of all the animals I have had over the years. One cost me over 1k to to fix up. He was on deaths door when he literally came to my back door. The vet figured he had maybe a week left in him. He turned out to be the best I ever lived with. He used to meet me at the door as soon as I came home and would guard me wherever I was in the house. Perhaps the best thing about him was that he loved women so much. Every girlfriend always raved how cool and affectionate he was. You could hear him purring from the next room. He just loved going to the cottage and even the long car rides. Sadly I had to put him down after he had a stroke but he lived quite the life.
I had two turtles when I was a kid. Those little red-eared ones they have at every pet store. One was nice and allowed you to handle it, but the other was a huge dick and would attack anything it could get at. It’d even try to bite your finger through the glass. Well, one day, I found the nice one’s shell floating in the tank. The other one had eaten the rest of it. It wasn’t underfed or anything, just did it for the hell of it, seemingly.Same with Tortoise.
Just read that snapping turtles can live in captivity for 47 years. So don't what that would mean in the wild.I had two turtles when I was a kid. That mean little bastard eventually got HUGE. Like, unbelievably so. It outgrew two tanks. The guy at the pet shop didn’t believe me when I told him how big this thing was. He insisted that these turtles can’t get very big. This thing got to near-dinner plate size. Eventually, it got so big that we wound up releasing it in a swamp. There simply wasn’t space in my room for a tank big enough for it anymore. Kinda wonder if it’s still out there somewhere. Not sure how long those kinds of turtles live, I know some sea turtles can live hundreds of years, kind of doubt these get that old. I kinda feel like this guy might’ve been simply too pissed off to die.
Agreed they are...........And thanks I try my best.+1000
Animals are a blessing. You are probably a super decent fellow because animals are great at revealing character in others.
Yeah, could very well be. Not a ton that eats turtles once they get to a certain size either, especially around here given that we don’t have gators. Dude’s pretty much at the top of the food chain here. Who knows? Could still be swimming around kicking ass and being an ornery old prick.Just read that snapping turtles can live in captivity for 47 years. So don't what that would mean in the wild.
Might still be around.
