Came across a bit of a dilemma...

Tried to book an independent who requires screening such as ID or Terb handle and references. I go OK, ID isn't an option, but I have the latter.

You may think that SPs you've seen will vouch for you, but no. Turns out many providers don't provide references, but will ask for one from new potential clients.

Asking a provider you saw for a future reference or asking for one weeks/months later feels silly to begin with. The whole concept seems counterintuitive.

How do you go about providing references?

Ouch. That kinda sucks.

I don’t usually have a problem getting reference requests. I have a couple of times but for the most part, the ladies I check with are all happy to give screening info.

I don't bother with references unless explicitly asked. Never ran into an issue, probably because I seldom use them. And of course no ID.
Maybe a deposit would do, if you both agree with it.
Gift-cards are easy and you can buy them with cash, or just send it through email.

Exactly what I was thinking... apparently I have to get laid more and tell about it to pass screening. Deposits I'm not a fan of but can still do it if it's an option. This time it wasn't even offered.

I've been in a mood to venture to an Indy market, but it's proving to be more challenging than I even anticipated. Some, even those on Terb, advertise without schedule or approximate hosting location and ignore requests for such info. Seems perfectly harmless to say "Hey, I'm by airport 1-10PM on such and such day" or something like that so we, as clients, can plan ahead.

Never had any such issues with agencies. More business for them I suppose.
