Question for those of you with carpal tunnel, do you get a weird mix of tingling/raw nerve feeling in your index and middle finger? Like sometimes I'll be scrolling through a page with the mouse wheel and if feels like I'm rubbing my finger against sandpaper.
Could also be a pinched nerve. Phone posture can do that.

There's a few tests that can be done to determine if you have carpal tunnel syndrome....A nerve conduction study is the one I'm familiar with. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...nel-syndrome/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20355608

A brace can be worn while you sleep that might give some relief.

Some believe this might be tied to a high oxalate diet and perhaps adopting a low oxalate diet will be of benefit. Sally K Norton is a proponent of this approach.

Most orthopedic surgeons can correct this. It's an out patient procedure and is fairly short and done without general anesthesia.

I feel your pain and hope it eases soon...

I hope that you can get some relief fast. The median nerve is somehow getting compressed causing the numbness in the fingers. It is hard to treat, hopefully you do not get worse or require surgery.

used to be married to a physiotherapist.

get two large buckets or bowls. Fill one with ice and the other with as hot a water as you can stand. Put your hand up to your wrist in the ice for 45 seconds. Then switch it to the hot water bucket. Keep doing this for about ten rotations. Always end with the cold water. It's helped me and saved me some pain and sleepless nights.

Good luck

Thanks. 🙂 Quick question: Is it important to start with the ice first?

When the pain comes on, it can be really stiff and you’re number one goal is to not aggravate it make it 10 times worse. I find it better to pound it with ice and Advil for the first day or 2 to force the swelling down, while wrapping it up in a wrist brace inbwtween.

Then use heat when you’re in the recovery stage, doing wrist stretches and strengthening exercises with small weights or resistance bands. This is also the most important preventative measure to stop it from coming back.

A tens machine can also help to give you a very deep tissue massage in your small joints.

If it’s in your fingers and not just your wrists, finger sleeves can also help for a few days on the affected joints, as well wrist braces. Coban wrap works well for this.

Thanks everyone. 🙂 It turns out that it might be frostbite. (I lost my gloves, lol). My doctor thinks that what it is. I have the classic symptoms...Not fun.
