Liberals announce that 30,000 new jobs are created in a month:
15,000 of them are Government jobs.
10,000 are 'permanent part time'* jobs. Of these, 7,000 people hold an average of 1.4 jobs each.
1,500 are jobs with a new title, but no change to the job description.
*Many employers hire several part time employees instead of a smaller number at full time. If an employee works fewer than a certain number of hours per week, (I think its around 27), the employer doesn't have to pay them for legal holidays, they don't necessarily become eligible to join the Union, (where applicable), and they don't qualify for additional benefits, (pension plan, prescription drugs, vision or dental care, etc.), which would be part of the full-time employee package.
