Mom commits suicide in India after son is killed in GTA carjacking
The mother of an international student killed in a Mississauga carjacking has committed suicide in India, according to a report.
His mother, Narinder Kaur, killed herself in Punjab after learning of the news, said tribuneindia.com.
Nath, a food delivery driver from Brampton, was working in the Britannia-Creditview Rds. area of Mississauga just after 2 a.m. on July 9 when he was carjacked and injured.
He died in hospital on July 14.
“His mother Narinder Kaur was reportedly not informed about his demise ever since. As she got to know about it today ahead of the arrival of his body late this evening, she could not bear the shocking news,” tribuneindia reported Friday. “She died by suicide by consuming some poisonous substance even before seeing her son’s body.”
