I want to plug a Sirius FM Adaptor into the back of my car radio. How difficult is it to access the back of the radio?

not hard at all once you take it out.

I suggest you take it for dinner and drinks.

Easy to take out. The secret is not damaging your dashboard and putting it back in without rattles. I just let the pros do it when I installed my iPod adapter. That way it's insured and guaranteed.

depends on the car.....for some cars it's a joke to take out and you wo't damage anything.....for others it's a lot tougher!!!! Look online for instructions...some people youtube the instructions for you, and you can do it yourself. Follow it....and watch for every clip and screw and you can take it out without a problem. I've done it millions of times on so many different cars.

Yes, it should be fairly easy. It's all about the clips. Make sure you're patient and don't force anything. Once you break a clip, you're gonna be so pissed whenever you hear those rattles.

www.crutchfield.com has a lot of instructions......

Keeb: a couple of things to think of before you begin....
1) How are you planning to install the FM adapter? Is it one that goes between the antenna and the input on the back of the radio?
2) Before you go down that route, does your current car radio have an aux input in the front? Or does it have aux inputs in the rear? (shut up guys lol). These could just be rca type inputs.

I ask because a lot of radios (even factory ones) have inputs for a factory installed cd changer. If it has them, you can connect the rca outs of the sirius radio to these inputs and your sound will be 100x better than via the fm input....

I don't know where Keeb lives but Kromer radio on Bathurst could do it or one of the thousands of other car audio shops around. Probably charge you an hour's labour ($60.00)

I contacted Future Shop and they want $100 to hard wire my Sirius to the back of my radio. That includes the cost of the FM Modulator ($35).

Does that sound reasonable?
