So, I had a problem with my car and the tires have a slight uneven tire wear. I've noticed a light vibration at low speeds at the steering wheel and quite a bit at highway speeds. I've brought the car in and had my car aligned and wheels balanced. The suspension and everything is ok. I don't know why its doing this, could the tires cause it?

Uneven thread wear would cause pulling whle braking, and also vibration at low speeds and more at a higher speed.
Buy a thread measurer from Canadian tire and measure your thread wear, if your tries are newer try rotating them and it should help with the vibration. If its not newer and you have already put some KM's on the tires you would need to replace them.

It could be an broken belt internally in the tire. This could happen at any time, but more so towards the end of the life of the tire.

Yes poor tire design can cause this. Continentals seem to do this. Poor suspension design can do this as well as heavily worn shocks/struts. Try finding a shop with a Hunter force balancer. That machine puts a load on the tire when balancing to give a better balance. Other than that, buy new tires. Michelins have very tight tolerances, but you also pay for the quality.

Don't drive too long on them, in addition to the possible handling issues it can create, the vibration and minor instability of the wheels can actually impart bad alignment back to your front end and cause it to need another alignment prematurely. Sort of like the alignment equivalent of re-infection.

It's not going to happen over night, but if you intend to drive the car for more than two or three months, you'll be replacing the tires anyway, why not do it soon while the car is still aligned instead of waiting to put the new tires on when the alignment has gotten worse and create the same problem on the new tires all over again...

Most likely its the car and not the tires causing it. Toe in/out, camber or alignment.

My mechanic re-installed my snows. I do rotate, but get vibrations at a certain speed. I've asked him to balance the tires on my next visit. The tread wear seems consistent and minimal.

More info needed:
Front or rear tires?
How old are they, how much mileage on them?
What type of uneven wear? Photos can help.
If aligned and balanced by a reputable tech, what was his opinion of the wear and did he recommend new tires?

all tires, since I had them rotated but was unaware of the bad suspension part causing the bad alignment.

almost 2 years old, around 40k km, Michelin defenders

Slight outer wear

If aligned and balanced by a reputable tech, what was his opinion of the wear and did he recommend new tires?
The tech said they aren't too bad and its ok to drive with them.

Are the hubs rusty? I had a similar problem, thought it was the tires.. and it turns out the rust on the hubs was causing the wheels interface at a slight angle....if the vibe is kinda like side to side and tends to resonate at certain speeds this is probably it. Alignment machine cannot catch this, as it will align the tire in a static state. The only way is to remove the wheels, clean and make sure the hub and wheel is free of rust and can mate properly.
