HDTV burning

If the file was captured over any standard bradcast method then it could not have been encrypted. US friends capture HDTV signals (becuase in US HDTV from Fox and others, (so monday night football) is broadcasted via highbandwidth airways and with a $50 PCI card you can tune them all into your PC, anyways they burn onto DVD monday night football (only Greenbay games) and fox shows such as "american dad" regularly to free space on HD.

So, probally not the encrypted by fox in my opinion.

Please tell me you will skip the old dude with the guitar part

You mean the guy with the real bad hair colouring????....LOL...no worries there.
Some people say you're either a Beatles fan or an Elvis fan.
Sorry if I offend some terbites but I hate both.(not them but their music).

Shit....I've wasted 5 DVD's now and it still wont burn.
Once those lame DVD-R's are even slightly burned they're useless

burn as VCD

im sure it will fit on a CD-R as a VCD is all you want is playback in DVD player, I know that counts as throwing in the towel, but somtimes technology gets the better of us.

AS for Elvis and the Beatles, Im more of a WhiteStripes fan, even Jacks latest CD with Loretta Lynn is not bad.

check the model of DVD player you have on vcdhelp.com and see what formats it supports. Most Dvd players will play vcd but it is easy to check.

what format is the Superbowl in ? avi ? mpeg 1 or mpeg 2 ?

try winavi to convert to DVD format.

I suspect you are trying to convert a file that is in xvid format with variable mp3 audio.

A CD will only hold 80 minutes of video in mpeg 1 format (vcd). There is no way the Superbowl will fit onto a single CD. You will have to insert a 2nd CD or maybe a 3rd CD.

Imagine a player about to score a touchdown and is about to be tackled then you have to switch to the 2nd CD.

go to control panel switch to classical view then system then to device manager and delete your cd/dvd device. uninstall nero, and use the nero clean tool. reboot windows, windows will recognize new hardware and will reinstall the cd/dvd drive. reinstall a clean version of nero. now this should work but you may have to update the dvd firmware.

If you want to update your dvd firmware and if you have dvd decryptor (3.52) installed. start it and in the dvd drive window (source window) where it shows what drive you have, right click and click firmware updates. it will take you to a site where you can update the dvd firmware. make note of what your current firmware is.

Holy shit, joebear......you da man!!!!!!!
I'll try what you suggested on the first page of this thread.

I also have Sonic burning software so I'll try that also.

Interesting though that I talked to someone else today who has the same problem trying to burn this game. Me thinks Rupert Murdoch has a laser beam shining through my TV.

Like Dr, Evil.....the LASER........the LASER

*runs away screaming looking for his tinfoil hat*

BTW joebear, I just checked and the super bowl torrent is in .AVI format but then it also says DIVX in the bottom of the screen when I play it

If you really want to convert the avi. try this. make a copy of the file. get a four cc changer. there is usually one included if you have the xvid codec installed. open the file in the fourcc changer. in the four cc description code it will tell you what codec it is using, probably Divx5, change it to xvid and in the box, four cc codec used, it probably sayd Divx5, change it to xvid.

you are changing what codec it is using and making it the DivX file look like it is an xvid file by changing the headers. try and convert that file, it may convert in Dvd Santa.

if you are still having problems the only easy way to burn the avi to dvd is to separate the video and audio using virutal dub mod 1.5.10.1 all inclusive check out the website virtualdubmod.sf.net and go to the download page. you need this to demux the video and audio. once you have demux it you can convert in nero.

I tried to convert an avi with the video and audio combined in nero but it came out with no sound. I found out with some problem avi the easiest way was to separate the video and audio and convert in nero.

I had similar problems I tried alot of different things but the above was the easiest and convert some problem avi's I had in converting them to dvd format.

Joe, can I demux the audio and video and then convert and burn with Dvdsanta or does it have to be Nero????

I dont think you can use DVD santa unless Dvd Santa has two separate file windows for the video and audio. You can use whatever you want for those problem files but it will have to be demuxed. Nero is real easy once you have them demuxed. The harder part is to demux the avi video file and the mp3 audio.

If you have the file demuxed I can step ou thru the Nero process it is so simple.

Thanks Joe but all this is way too complicated for Esco
I downloaded the demux program but I'm not technologically enough to do all this.
I'm gonna accept my fate and lay down my weapons on this one
Damn shame though

Joe, I tried something else, I simply downloaded a Winavi torrent and used that program to encode and burn to DVD (instead of dvdsanta).

It did the job and burned it no problem.
