Canon Printer Ink Cartridges

A question for the membership:

I have a Canon inkjet printer that requires cartridges with a chip. I have had success with 123InkCartidges.ca supplies. However, they have cartridges both with and without chips. If I buy a cartridge without a chip, is it a simple matter to just remove the chip from an existing empty cartridge I have and glue it on to the new one without a chip, for it to work?

I getmy canon refilled at the shoemaker/passport pic guy and they are chip cartridges and still work perfectly. if you get them refilled at grand and toy they change the chipnumber in the cartridge.

Check these guys out. I get my ink here for my Canon printers and they sell the chip resetters as well for most models.
