She found herself the niche of the far right black person. There is a lot of money in being a loud right wing pundit in the USA, not much money in the equivalent position on the left (write a right wing diatribe book and conservative groups will buy in mass and pass them out at rallies). The "after dinner speaker" fees are huge for conservative groups too (e.g you might get 500 for the left, but 5000 for the right, and if really famous on the right -like Ann Coulter 25,000...or super famous like Rush or Hannity 50-100k).

but, is she right about Floyd's history? If what she saying is true, she's bang on about idiocy of what people are supporting.

I didn’t watch the video but what is it about George Floyd’s history that makes it okay for a cop to murder him?

^^^^^^ Nailed it.

It's a career choice. You lose a lot of friends, make a shitload of $. More and more people are aiming for "right wing internet pundit" as their road to fame and fortune.

Nothing. Maybe watch the video next time. What she said was he's being honored like a hero or martyr when in fact he was a piece of shit. Among his long history of crime, some violent like one he recently got out of jail for holding a loaded gun to a pregnant women's stomach.

You have the same dealio on the other side. The commentator who turned against the Republican party. Nicole Wallace, SE Cupp come to mind. I have no problem that they oppose Trump. However, if you listen to them now they didn't sound like that five years ago. Their cable news audiences are not interested in Republican political philosophy. So for pursuit of a buck, they have to downplay their true politics and sell new ones.

Candace Owens is pretty and she's articulate. I never think she's saying anything terribly insightful or nuanced. She has a shtick sort of speak. But why is anyone surprised.

I don't know all the facts about his history. However. I saw a video of him handcuffed and compliant. Being sat on the ground with his back against the wall. Followed by 9 minutes of a cop staring into the camera with his hands in his pockets, kneeling on his neck with his head on the sidewalk. His body in the gutter.Until he stopped breathing. While three other cops, two of whom were also kneeling on the prone Floyd at first, then stood watch, letting Chauvin crush his neck until he died.

It's a very inconvenient truth for media and protesters alike that GF was a career criminal, consumer of hard drugs, and violent offender. He didn't deserve to die the way he did. He deserved to die broken and alone in a federal penitentiary after a very long and well-deserved incarceration. The fact this POS was actually out on the street walking free is more of a scathing indictment of law enforcement and the criminal justice system than the actual crime committed by the murderer DC is. Sad, but true.

George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 for a fresh start after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery
Floyd had turned his life around but died on Monday after a white officer knelt on his neck while arresting him for allegedly paying with a fake $20 bill
None of the officers could have been aware of Floyd's more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest
The 46-year-old had left behind his past in Houston after being released from prison stemming from a 2007 robbery
He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records
Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in jail for having less than one gram of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest
He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest
Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail
He had another stint for a theft in August 1998

It's called "opportunism" or "careerism" and it's not limited to 1 side or the other. In fact, its true practitioners are equally at home spreading whatever BS they can make $ from.

The 1 thing I will say is that the cash rewards do appear larger on the right than the left.

It's not quite the same. Nicole Wallace would have made far more money going farther right (she co chaired john McCain's run for presidency) than being on msnbc. And she's not that liberal either in fact fairly centrist. She also worked for GWB. But she also has standards and morals and believes in govt. She said if GWB asked her to go out and lie in a press briefing like sean spicer did she would have resigned. That's how the old school worked.

Nicole Wallace many times seems to be pandering to the audience with a certain lack of sincerity. S.E. Cupp was more conservative before winding up on CNN. You have to feed your audience.

I'm not making a qualitative judgement about what they stand for now. I'm just saying they have changed some of their rhetoric. There are media opportunities if you craft these images. As Gypsy Rose Lee said "You gotta have a gimmick."

By the way, I don't think Nicole Wallace has the demeanor, politics aside, to appeal to the Fox News audience. Objectively, Wallace isn't in a lucrative time slot at MSNBC.

This chick gets it.

If her message would resonate among her cultural group it would do more to help the black community than any protest or riot.

yep. I remember during the Baltimore riots, I saw this one black lady post on facebook about how these black people are all up in arms, and she was like "as a black women, I'm so sick and tired BLM and others making a big stink when a black person dies at the hands of police, mean while a 4 your girl was killed in the crossfire of a shootout by black men two nights ago in my complex. Why are they not speaking up about that??" She ended up give a other examples and remember thinking to myself "here is someone that has the courage to call out her own culture about how ridiculous it is that they refuse to look within".
