We have heard SP and MAs comment on last minute cancellations. I agree that it is not fair and is bad form.

Last week I showed up to an appointment with an MA at an established spa. When I gave my name, the receptionist said that the MA was not coming in. These things happen. However I had booked on line 6 days earlier and I had received an email confirmation from the spa. I checked my mail (including junk mail) - nothing.

Is it a protocol thing not to tell the client (in case others have access to their email)?
Not a total waste of time for me. I did some shopping, but still... frustrating.

Am I expecting too much? Just go with the flow?

You could always call in advance before you leave and confirm that the person is in. Of course this only works if you are not right at the beginning of the shift.

I had few similar experiences in one of the establishments. I booked the provider on a relatively short notice, to find out that she is not coming at the time I booked. Every time I was offered to go with another girl. Ones it happened when I was already in the room, almost undressed. Can we classify such tactic as bait and switch?
