Under the guise of rising inflation grocery stores have jacked up prices so much that many families are struggling to eat, while making record profits.

They are able to fleece customers because of Trudeau. It is why he has a mass immigration policy. Grocery stores are donating big checks to the Century Initiative, lead by Trudeau and his buddy Barton. They are increasing the population to help the rich get richer. It is easier to fleece customers when you got more people which means more demand. To stop this, Trudeau has to go. Kind of like how rents have skyrocketed and expensive houses, all because of Trudeau. He belongs in prison.

The prices in Nunavut shown in the clip are absolutely insane! $14 for a can of soup , $28 for a bag of grapes, $10 for a small can of frozen juice. How do people pay these outrageous prices!?

Trudeau is guilty of tax lust, he should go sooner than later.

How much influence he has on groceries is debatable. It's greedflation on the part of the Weston family. Apart from Loblaws, they own No Frills, Fortinos and 4 other bulk companies. They have been manipulating grocery prices since 2018, so far no one has been able to slow them down.

So much for Galen Weston's Jimmy Stewart image.

Trudeau is far guiltier then you think. He is leading the Century Initiative with Dominic Barton and Mark Wiseman. The Century Initiative is getting large donations, guess from who? Corporations and financial companies, Blackrock being among that. The McKinsey Agency is tied in to this and they were also behind the suggestions to force covid mandates. Trudeau handed out millions of dollars in contracts to McKinsey. The agency's goal is to increase the population to 100 million by 2100. But Trudeau is a wacko and is admitting more immigrants then even the Century Initiative calls for, at this rate Canada will hit 100 million in 30 years. One must ask why? Simple, GREED. Trudeau along with all the rich want more money. Grocery stores are in it also, the more people there are the more money they will make. They can keep on jacking up food prices and because there are just so many people hence too much demand the food sells fast. The rich want a shortage of resources and high demand, it means prices go way up. Great for the rich corporations and politicians. If they created a shortage of air then there would be a price on oxygen also. The McKinsey agency is also the one telling Trudeau to rapidly increase the population. All these people are criminals and belong in jail. The Century Initiative is a lobbyist group at its core. Most people do not know about this, the information is out there but people are too naive. Trudeau is a very bad man, the most corrupt garbage I ever witnessed. Ppl got to open their eyes and look at the man leading the Liberal party, just because it is a Liberal party does not mean you automatically for that party. Look at the man leading it, corrupt thief liar.

its been a long time since i must confess i agree with you ;) Things change i guess.

trudeau will not get another mandate. But the question is, will things really change?

Stopping the crazy 🤪 1 million immigrants would be a good first step as we are already lacking 2 millions home in this country.

Now for food... PP won't do shit unfortunately. He is in bed with the Weston family...

This is a fallacy and I've showed you the numbers to prove it. If the grocery chains were gouging it would show up in their gross margin on sales which is the difference between what they sell a product for and the cost that they pay for it including shipping, waste etc.
From the Loblaw Companies Ltd. annual reports, this is their gross margin by year for the past 5 years

2019 29.7%
2020 29.5%
2021 30.7%
2022 30.9%
2023 31.0%

If there truly were price gouging that percentage would be well over 33%. But if you truly want them to get back to under 30% there needs to be more competition in the industry. Right now its operating as an oligopoly a few big players control 80+% of the market.

Loblaw Companies Limited own Loblaws, No Frills, Superstore, Zehrs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Provigo (QC), Fortino's, T&T Supermarket (30% of market share)
Empire Companies Ltd own Sobeys, IGA, Foodland, Safeway, Freshco, Farmboy, Longo's (51%) (21% of market share)
Metro Inc. owns Metro, Food Basics, Marche Adonis (QC), Jean Coutu (11% market share)
Costco (11% market share)
Wal-Mart (8% market share)

The other <20% market share would be the likes of Whole Foods, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Rabba Fine Foods, Your Independent Grocer, Highland Farms etc.

Shop at Canadian superstore. They price match. But there will be a lot of annoyed customers behind you at checkout. Tried it a couple of times during my college days, it was nerve wracking. Haven't done it since. Best time to go is early morning or just before lunch. It's less busy.
Walmart price matches too but the way these stores get around that is they only discount their brand name foods.
Superstore will make down its PC items which can’t be price matched at other stores.

but most grocery stores price match.

flyer apps are good as well.

I have a friend who owns a produce distribution business, which sells to the major chain retailers.
I asked him directly about this.
He said they are selling for the relatively same prices since pre covid and it's the major chain retailers who are coercively gouging.
Nothing will be done about it.
Look at that class action lawsuit about price fixing on bread. What a joke.
The only way to navigate this crap is to earn more $

I was in Iqaluit in April of 1999 when Nunavut was officially declared a Territory.
I learned then, all residents received "Northern Living Allowance" from the government to help survive the insane prices of food/living.
Not sure if this is still the case today, but probably.

It will take years for the damage to be repaired. I dunno if you are old enough but remember the damage his father did. It took a decade to recover from that. Poilievre will for sure be an improvement over Trudeau but far from perfect. Unfortunately once prices go up they never go back down but we can hope the damage is lessened.

I'd love to blame Turdboy but in this case it's pure capitalistic corporate greed unfortunately.
Trudeau enabled corporate greed and when government makes policies that favor them it is no longer Capitalism, this is Cronyism. You forget about government greed, Trudeau constantly jacking up taxes on everything including his carbon tax.

Trudeau is enabling it with mass immigration and carbon taxes. Prices will go even higher with a railroad strike. He can force them back to work but he does not want to.

Of course because they can and nothing anyone can do about it. When you import 2 million people to the country, you grossly increase demand. Prices go up, simple law of supply and demand. Food is a necessity, even if people cut down on how much they buy, just because there are so many more people it makes up for the lower volume. The food sells so fast even at high prices.
