Huh? Have had a US debit card since the late 90s. Many offer frequent flyer miles too.
Interac in Canada launched in 1994 and founded in 1984. The concept of taking money directly from your bank account by swiping your bank card, started in Canada before the US adopted in the late 90's.

Bottom line is, Canada did it way before the states did.

We also had Call Display (caller ID) well before the USA did
Helps that NORTEL made all the switches and most of the phones in Canada.

The DC Metro is clean and modern, and does not allow food/drink or loud stereos playing. It also features a SmartCard RFID payment system, which I have not seen in Canada yet. Surveillance cameras will take care of turnstile jumpers, and panhandlers are abruptly dealt with.
The problem in US seems to be consistency. In Windsor, Toronto, Montreal I've never been offered a free bus ride if I didn't have the funds. I'll never be able to cross over to the subway either.

In California, the buses over there let u ride even if u don't have the money. Cities I would include Bay Area, LA. In PA, you hop on the trolly or subway first and if the conductor sees u dont have money to pay, you can still ride for free (with a reminder to pay next time). There is no barrier to prevent u from getting on the railroad train before paying.

Again it's just a lack of consistency throughout.

The ezpass system uses a ticketing system. That's not that same at the 407. Ezpass you have a ticket and its a prepaid account the machine reads.

407 is a completely differently technology. You enter in (there is no gate that lifts up, btw), and a camera is placed wayyyy high up to read your license plate. The billing system will recognize your licence plate, your address and send you a bill. You don't have to stop or slow down and feed a machine.

Everything is electronically done with sensors and camera. If you have a transponder, the sensors will pick it up and give you discount by waving you $3.30.

That's why it's called ETR. "Electronic" toll system because everything done with minimal effort. I have yet to see EZpass use camera/sensor technology and send the customer the bill.

Depends on which post office you go to. There is one in Long Island that is open 7 days/24 hours. In addition, the USPS website has many services available online.
I guess the point is, only in america did I first see a 3 hour deal on a post office.

Yes i'm sure there are obviously other post offices that have more flexable hours, but not all of them do.

I still have yet to see 3 hours for a post office in Canada.

Friends in Muskoka were very surprised when going to a post office that the entire office closed for 1.5 hours so all employees could take lunch at the same time.

The poor get a much better deal here healthcare wise in Canada than the States.

Postal Code vs. Zip Code.

Canadians are usually well liked outside of North America during travel....you can complete the rest.

USA is the global porn centre...

...and yet, mongering in Canada , in general, is much much better.

You think so do you. How come I can't carry legally when I am fully qualified to in the US but any urban thug in Toronto can with minimal consequences. Be careful how you use the word fascist, it betrays a lot.

Yes, so long as there is a simplistic comment that needs correcting I will post in that regard. Its not whining either. Its longing.

We need a " Paul Kersey" role model to begin eliminating slime.:D
