Not bad. I agree that they have been disappointing of late however 2 wins against Boston tonight and tomorrow before Xmas would help and Boston is still strugling. Then Jersey, Pittsburgh and Buffalo next week. Should be able to grab at least a win and a tie from the Devils and/or Penguins. Buffalo will be tough. Biron has been outstanding.
If the Leafs tank over the next week and a half however.................

but, aside from all the criticism this thread has about the team that was picked, you should look at the team from an opposition view point.
say if you're czech, russia, usa, whatever... you won't be able to figure out what kind of game team canada will bring each night.
the players the team canada picked can play any dominating style of hockey and can switch from very offensive to very defensive on a dime... this would be very difficult to coach and/or play against.
overall, i think this team has the best possible mixture of offense and defense, size and speed, leadership and youth... i can't see putting a better team together than this.

Hey buddy, it's only hockey.
The rivalry is just part of the fun. I'm not going to name my kids after hockey players, or sell the house to buy seasons tickets.
This rivalry is great and meant to be fun. The jabs are not personal, just fun.
Oilers/Flames, Yanks/Bosox, Giants/Cowboys, Bears/Packers....history. Divisional and playoffs.
Now, back on track with the Canadian Olympic Hockey Team....
I have been listening the the Fan 590 and AM 550 (Buffalo). There are a lot of Bertuzzi haters out there. The controversy of Heatley (impaired driving) and Doan (Gretzky's boy) making the trip appears to be heating up as well.
Someone on this board also mentioned Kariya? You're right...shouldn't be there...not even a 1st liner in the music city.
What I am happy about is that, our Defence is ultimately the best of any Olympic team. Our goalie, probably the best ever to play Olympic Hockey, will again shine for all Canadians. It's too bad that he is THE DEVIL!

Yeah, they are all Canadians...but isn't it so frustrating? Knowing that they may not be the best 23? But we, and I can only speak for armchair coaches, will never ever agree on the top list. Can you just imagine Gretzky, Quinn, Martin, Hitchcock, and Lowe, gathered around a boardroom table discussing the list? The favoritism (it is possible ie. Doan) and critisism (ie. Bertuzzi) and overcoming the retribution that they may face IF they don't repeat their gold performance. I am confident about our guys, but it is not going to be easy. They will always be the team to play your best against. Team Canada. Every country brings on their "A" Game.
And yes, the coach has to pull Brodeur if he doesn't cut it. Turco is having a career season with the hot glove. Reassuring me of a standout backup.
