I'm just wondering in your mind how you think Canada will look like in the long-haul.

How will Canada look like in 2050 in your mind.

Thanks.

If the Liberal Party of Canada has its way population will have reached
100 million by 2050. I guess we will fall short of that target but in all likelihood
ethnic mix of our population will be more diversified than it already is today.

Our debt will likely have been written off by default by then. A loaf
of bread will only cost you one or two thousand Canadian pesos.
Not an unworthy price to pay so our government cannot borrow
money to finance deficit spending anymore.

Climate change will deteriorate to a point where the climate is
nonetheless only a tad worse than it is today. We will continue
exporting oil, gas and coal without any restraint, for emission
reduction targets by then will become yesterday's folly. We will
have started burning woods to reduce escalating energy cost
after global oil production began its irreversible decline sliding
down the Hubbert curve circa 2030.

I don't see our population that high probably 60-80 million.

I asked ChatGPT to project based on current population, fertility rates, death rates and current immigration levels with 2024 levels of immigration for permanent residents vs 2025 targets for permanent residents.

Technology will completely change the way we see things by 2050. It won't takeover but the threat will be more real than ever. In addition, I see a class war being a top issue for the country.

IMO the end result will be more socialism. 🤷‍♂️

our population will peak at 45M as humanoid robots take over all the menial work. there will be 3 robots for every person, basic income will be quite high as the robots extract our wealth deal with manufacturing.

As we reach limitless production and exponential productivity growth with crashing employment, there will be the option of socialism, or serfdom followed by a civil war.

There's no way wages can keep up with inflation. It's inevitable.

We will see migration out of Canada as the willing and eager will not accept these lower standards.

The migration out will lead to an increase in migration in. I'll let you guys paint that picture.

Between AI and right wing fascism, I'm kinda glad I'll probably be dead by then
AI is going to bring productivity improvements and create huge leaps in wealth creation medicine, health and technological advancements
Socialism would make a mess of that

A return to sensible , responsible conservative governance would ensure more people participate in the advancements

you fascism remark is just plain ignorant
conservative do not want to lord over others , they just want sensible , responsible governance where individual freedoms are respected
it is the left who are now the antisemites and who want to make the public dependant on big govt , controlling what the public can do, say and think

This is an interesting feature from Stats Can. A real time population clock

As of 8:45 am on Nov 13 we are at 41,729,603 residents in Canada. Our census in 2021 showed 36,991,981. So we are up 4,736,622 people in the span of 4 plus years. That's an increase of about 12.8%. In the 5 years prior to 2021 our population increase was 5.2%. These numbers are insane especially given the increase in emigration the past 5 years.
