This is beyond comical to me
As myself and a few other posters said a single layer non medical mask does fuck all
I even mentioned in the other thread you should have a filter

A TON of covidiots were jumping up and down in rage saying that people like myself were wrong

And looky what our Government came out with today
Now do you guys want anything to drink with that huge helping of I-Told-You-So

I'm in the same mind set. Viruses are in the range of nanometers and where the medical masks cant protect you from breathing mould spores in the micron range including that fact that we've been told they help protect against water droplets in the air. The medical masks themselves to not state that they can block bacteria or viruses either. Also, aside from possible sterilizers, medicine is meant to kill bacteria and not viruses. Good quality food, sleep and stress management activities along with fresh air will boost your immune system to the point that a mask isnt needed or only when you're sick anyway. But reducing your daily oxygen intake makes you feel fatigued, more stressful due to the body's lack of oxygen and if your cells in your body don't get enough oxygen within a 48 hour period, they can become cancerous. You guys can google all of that to confirm. Or check a box of medical masks made in China, but the swine flu, avian flu, west Nile virus, Zika virus, sars, staph infection etc are pissed off that we weren't wearing masks XD they all went under the radar though so maybe our immune systems are hardwired to fight back or something, you be the judge.

Here is your "huge helping of I-Told-You-So"; SCIENCE CHANGES AS NEW DATA BECOMES AVAILABLE! I've said that a few times on this board, seems you need yet another reminder of how science works. It analyzes the best available evidence and reaches a conclusion. But all scientific conclusions are provisional, because new research and data are continually coming in. If we didn't allow that, there would be no progress.

Science clearly shows the single layer non-med mask did nothing months ago
Nothing has changed
Some politicians made up arbitrary mask bylaws and we all saw how well that went

Also in news
Ford has given up (yay) and Trump has won (projected 300 electoral votes! even higher than expected)

Tis a good night

What is criminal in this whole farce is that neither the provinces nor the fed secured the proper supply and production of the Covid resistant PPE for the general population. After almost a year and probably a trillion spent this one failure, like no others, demonstrates how useless our "leadership" has become. I oscillate between the pure, white rage and the mirthless laughter every time I make the mistake of listening to "Dr" Tam, or Hajdu, Ford or Justin.

The OP is just common sense & something that many have been saying since months ago.

Of course 2 layers is better than 1 layer & 3 layers are better than 2 layers & 5 layers are better than 4 layers, etc.

Furthermore KN95 & medical-surgical type masks have been available in Canadian stores for a long time already.

Where did Tam and CDC say "masks do not work"?
lol what?

The very first line clearly says:

A mask or face covering can be homemade or purchased, and should:

(they even bolded the word "should" just for you)

So if the bare minimum required is 2 layer + filter what does that mean for a single layer mask then?
If a single layer works then why recommend a more expensive mask as a minimum
Pretty obvious even for the Covidiots I should think....

Its no dif than saying you "should" eat a certain way, or you "should" do something for safety

Where does Tam ever say "masks don't work"? Provide a quote with url if you can ever find anything even vaguely resembling that.

If I tell you that you "should" wear a seat belt because it increases your chance to survive a car crash do I really need to spell out for you that not wearing said seat belt is therefore more dangerous?

Even NOT wearing a seat belt you *could* survive therefore it will never be 100% fatality

Same with masks
Wearing a 3 layer mask might give you 80% coverage (made up number) and wearing a 1 layer mask might give you 15% coverage (made up number)
But tons of medical science for months before Tam said it showed that a normal mask is far too porous and that was what started the N95 binge resulting in shortages for medical people
Yes a 1 layer is better than nothing, but it has a very low % in harm reduction hence the term "worthless" and hence the rapid explosion of cases as we speak (we have more sick today than we did at height of the outbreak during summer even, DESPITE the fact that majority DO wear masks religiously. I have even seen nutjobs driving in cars (alone) while wearing masks lol)

I haven't seen any studies out there on re how many layers masks have had that people have been wearing.

There have been studies on how effective various types of masks are. I don't recall any commonly worn mask being as low as 15% effective in protecting others relative to not wearing any mask.

It's been often stated since months ago that more layers, etc, is better.

...
Either you're now arguing that we shouldn't have to wear seat belts or your going against your previous arguments and admitting that masks help. Holy shit this forum is entertaining.

More absurdities about masks

Kids in a school required to wear masks
Inmates in a prison are not

People shopping at a local Walmart are required to wear masks
People working in same Walmart are not

You know it is RIGHT on the page if you bothered to look
I even copy and paste it just for you

Face coverings will not stop you from getting COVID-19, but may help protect others.

(A Face Covering is defined by same page as: non-medical mask, such as a cloth mask )

At best IF you are sick wearing a mask may (won't) help you spread it less
But wearing a non medical mask does fuck all to prevent you from getting sick
And EVERY reputable source has said this
