If that was in Canada there would have been a Tim Horton's along the way.

Just for a light bulb?
I feel it would kinda be easier to just lower someone in a harness from an helicopter no?
It is much more dangerous with a helicopter.
Yes the bag is around 30lbs of tools. Any parts are extra weight. It's much easier to climb up than going down. You have to be more careful. It's also a job for Younge guys. Most of the guys retire before they are 35.
As you get older you start to fear and analize things.

It's much easier if you don't look down but straight ahead. If you have to look straight down you focus around your feet and not further.
I did it when I was younge. Wouldn't do it now

You're right Peter, easier going up,than coming back down. A lot more can go wrong if you miss a rung, fatigued muscles and your momentum will send a shiver through your spine.

Amazing story.

Yes, I do recall how native Canadians and Americans are not afraid of heights.
Ya don't know whats in their blood but no fear of heights. In high school as a dare me & my indian buddy walked over a bridge on the top beam of its superstructure, admittedly I was a little shaky a 100' up & took my time. He walked over half in the bag like he was walking down a four lane highway! I think after that they started calling me the white indian lol
