I don't know if this is related to your question but it might help others.

The easiest way to grab embedded videos from Youtube, and similar sites is with Firefox browser. You'll need the add-on found here called "Fast Video Download".

I used the vixy.net and it worked .

I'm not sure what happened though, my pc's getting a ton of popups and IE 6 keeps crashing.

but I got the vids i wanted.

I had norton antivirus but its old.

what do you think is good ? any free ones that you can recommend?

I'm actually thinking of getting a mac. I reformatted the drive and reinstalled windows and it seems to be ok now, so its all good at the moment.

looks like I spoke too soon . must have partitioned the hard drive wrong , its an 80GB drive but its only showing up as 8GB.

So basically instead of downloading the FLV file, with that site you end up downloading an AVI, etc..? I'm assuming all that is needed is just entering the URL of the youtube video right?
