It all starts again....
OK we're about to enter week #2 of the Madness and I just wanted to recap before anyone feels it necessary to prognosticate on todays winners.

I had UAB winning one round, but never expected them to beat Kentucky. I still think UConn will win it all especially now that the Wildcats are gone...no more Ashley *sigh*.
The St. Louis bracket is a write off now as I have both Kansas and GT loosing to Kentucky and Gonzaga...what was that Phat Boy?
Oh, well. Let the games begin again.

I still have the potential for three of the final four as I'm still alive in East Rutherford and Altanta and in Phoenix UConn should handle Alabama or Syracuse.Phat Boy said:

That's what makes the tourney the greatest sporting event on earth. Could you imagine if Carmello stayed ? Lebron went to college ??? Chris Bosch !!! I digress. Since I only have Duke left from my original picks, I'm retooling for Sweet Sixteen. Here's my game by game breakdown:
ABA vs Kansas:
I'll go with my gut. 40 minutes of hell prevails once again. I just can't go against a team with that so much heart. And they can SHOOOOOOT da ball. ABA wins.
GT vs Nevada:
I had no idea Nevada was this good. They spanked the Zag's. I'm going with Nevada.
St Joe's vs WF:
I have a special place in my heart for St Joe's because I once played a game there in my youth. St Joe's and Jaamal takes it.
Pit vs OS:
I wanted Wisconsin to win but too many bad shots at the end of the game killed them. They reminded me of the Raptors, except the Raptors take bad shots all game ( I digress ). Pitt is too tough on the glass, they have a smothering defense, and a point guard. Pitt wins.
Duke vs Illinois:
I had Duke going to the Final Four. They'll beat Illinois but they won't get past Texas in the Elite Eight. Duke wins.
Texas vs Xavier:
Self explanatory. Texas is too deep and too big. Texas wins.
Alabama vs Syracuse: Warrick reminds me of Connie Hawkins. Can anyone stop Warrick ??? Not on Alabama they can't. Syracuse moves on.
Vanderbilt vs UCONN:
Will the real Denham Brown please stand up !!! He does and that beast Okefor whips Vanderbilt. What's a Vanderbilt ??
The only bad about all this is I have to go out of town for the weekend. Who schedules work during the tourney ???

It's frustrating to find out this morning when the standings are poster that after picking 3 of the final 4, even if I've called the next three games correctly, I'm going to come up one point short of the projected winner.
Who would have thought that first round pick Air Force (over Carolina) and Louisville (over Xavier) would be my downfall. Sure in hindsight you can say they were stupid calls, but at the time, they were reasonable gambles that almost paid off.
Unfortunately there's no money for second in this pool...$800 winner take all.

Ha, ha, ha...I like Coach K. But I hate Duke. But I will give them credit. There a very good team. Not a great team, but a good team. Didn't Duke whoop UCONN at Duke back in Decmeber ? Doesn't matter. Saturday night is going to be a helluva a game. Quite honestly I think both teams are beatable. But Ben Gordon has been on fire and Duhon has those banged up ribs. UCONN wins and then loses to OSU on Monday !
