Hey guys,

I am trying to figure this out - I am seeing some profile webpages and they have price in $ - now is that in CAD or USD? When visiting, I would rather pay in CAD? as it is easier to transactions.

Have to plan on how much cash to bring to be exchanged at the airport

Thanks

If you are looking at local sites prices are typically in CAD. In fact, anything you do here is charged in CAD and you are better off paying CAD because some places will charge you 1-to-1 USD vs CAD if you try to pay in USD.

Let him pay in USD at par. See his YMMV disappear. LOL.
Or go up cuz he's giving a 25% tip ...lol. it's like when that lady in the usa south who, a news interview about signs in Spanish and english, said if English was good enough for Jesus it was good enough for her.

Other than say Niagara Falls, which actually will list in both prices, all prices will be in CAD.....

Why.......

Because you are in Frickin Canada. Happy to have your business.

The airport money changers are often the worst place to convert. Usually, debit cards get a better rate, although they vary by the Canadian bank. Years ago (been enjoying Canada for about 15 years,) must all debit cards at ATMs gave you the real latest exchange rate. But the last few trips tried various banks ATM's and some were at the real rates and other marked up (I forget which bank I found best). In the US I have a Bank of America Debit card I only use for travel to Canada since they have an affiliation with Sociabank and no fees.

The which currency to use is obvious in Canada since with our current strong $USD buys about 15% more $CDN and of course, folks in Canada don't usually take $US for obvious reasons - you're in Canada.

I am doing a lot of research on options in Tijuana Mexico, Lots of escorts, the strip clubs - forget the street ladies - but am considering in early November, instead of Toronto since its getting too cold up there! Went to Germany instead of Toronto for my usual June trip.

What is odd in TJ it is more common to take and want $US even in Mexico - at least in the Adult Zone near the border. Escorts are typical $80-125 an hour all outcall to your hotel but want $US. Financially it would be better for us to pay in Mx since the US dollar is so much stronger.

Uh, you're in Canada, so everything will be in Canadian dollars.

Just use your bank card in one of the Chartered Bank's ATM. Fyi look for RBC (Royal Bank of Canada), CiBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), BMO (Bank of Montreal), TD (Toronto Dominion), and Scotia Bank. All other "gas station variety" ATMs are to be avoided as are the currency exchange joints in the airport or anywhere else as they will rip you off.

Mandarin takes USD (Cash only) and gives 40% discount off CDN price. It must go directly to managers/owners pocket.

Given that CAD today is at $0.76.42 those Mandarin pockets must have big holes.

The best thing to do is to see which base city the escort works in. If she's from the US her rates will be in USD. if she's from Canada then her prices will be in CAD. I can't imagine why a Canadian escort would list her prices in USD if she is working in Canada. The only time her prices will be in USD is if she is touring in the US. If you want to pay her in Canadian money then it is your responsibility to convert the money long before you get there. If you pay her in US money then 9x out of 10 it will be at par and she will not convert it as it is not our responsibility to keep up with conversion rates etc. If you are traveling just carry extra cash for this kind of expense.

Yeah, this.

DON'T change at the airport - just go the CIBC ATM (that stands for automated teller machine - not "ass to mouth") at Pearson and withdraw like $1000.

Then party your ass off, only pay in Canadian dollars, and change whatever's left over at the airport on the way out.

You can totally pay here in USD, but everyone will rip you off.

That CIBC ATM at airport has a markup, avoid that. Any CIBC outside is just fine.

Why on God's green earth would the prices be in USD???
Actually everything is priced in USD's in Canada. The Canadian Dollar is nothing but a derivative of the USD. One is made of paper. The other made of plastic. But both have pictures of dead Freemasons.

Dude, that’s way to deep. The guy simply wanted to know the price. However you want to spin it, there is a difference, and that difference is listed as CAD since your in our fucking country.

When you go to the u.s, do you wonder if the prices listed are CAD or USD?

I used to drive a cab many years ago.... you wouldn't believe how many Americans would ask when I told them how much they owed me, "Is that in Canadian?"
